I had a heart procedure done last March to correct an irregular heart rythym I've had on & off since the early 80's. It had gotten worse with age, (well duh, what doesn't?), & could no longer be controlled with drugs without turning me into an even bigger zombie than I usually am. Well...it didn't work. Actually, it made it worse, and since then I've been in arrythemia 100% of the time. There's little risk, but the prob is, my heart is only pumping about 70% of its capability. Since I'm an avid cyclist, and ride 3-5000 mi per year, this presents a performance problem. I've also "hit the deck" more than a few times, when standing up rapidly. It's lights out, unless I take my time.
Anyhow, I'm going in tomorrow for pre-op testing and the docs will try again on Wed. to repair the condition. I'll probably be home on Thurs. & back to work on Tues. Hopefully, it'll work this time. If not, I'm probably done trying.

Good luck. Hope it works out for you. This getting older deal sucks. Pedaling your butt around town for 3-5Kmiles a year should have earned you something on the heart muscle side. ( yes, I know the difference between pedal and peddle) ;-)
I don't somehow see you giving up even if this doesn't give you a hundred%

Thanks for the kind words & thoughts everybody. I much more than happy to tell you that this time seems to have worked. For the 1st time in over 6 mo., I'm in normal sinus rythym. I came home early today, & am feeling fine....a little beat up, maybe, but otherwise fine. I can't ride for a couple of weeks, & I'm supposed to work up to anerobic threshold slowly when I start, but I'm soooo happy. I just hope it keeps on. I'm still on my old meds, (which suck, btw), but if everything works out as planned, I'll be able to discontinue them in a couple of months or so. The meds slow down metabolism, make me sweat profusely, and work to keep my heart rate down. The result is that I feel tired, depressed, & lethargic much of the time. So thanks again for the kind words & thoughts. I really appreciate all of you.
