Ah, ya'll probably don't care much, but I'm glad.  The install took me ALL day though.  The instructions suck and the pictures (in particular, the lack there of) really sucked.  They never really tell you where on the car things are located and make it sound alot more difficult than it needs to be.

I also had to have 7 stitches put in this afternoon.  I was loosening a nut and when it broke free my arm went flying.  7 stitches just above my right elbow on the back side sucks...especially since hockey try-outs are this week.

Glad you got it on. There's always a sense of satisfaction when the job is done. Too bad about your elbow though. That's gotta sting. :(

I thought hockey players thought stitches looked cool/tough.  Congrats on the new intake.  I wonder how much it cost when you factor in the hospital visit?  I hate BS like that.

I guess the stitches would be cool, but I'm afraid of something busting open.  I don't know what the hospital bill was, but when you factor in $300 for the part, a full days labor and the hospital, I'm sure it's pretty expensive.

Did the intake make much of a difference?
Good luck with the tryouts. just tape up the stitches so they don't split on you.

I've noticed a difference with the intake...especially around 3K rpm.  If you are kinda cruising along around 3K rpm and stomp it, it has much better get up and go.

Here is the engine bay with the stock intake.  You can see that it only draws air from the top right corner.

Here is the engine bay with the Jackson Racing intake.  You can see it draws air from the front of the engine.  It's cooler air, more of it, and at much higher velocity.

Hey Eric, how would you rate the straight-line performance of the Miata with the ZX3?

The way my ZX3 was vs. the way my Miata is right now, I would have to say the Focus was better.  But, I think if you look at it stock vs. stock or mod for mod, the Miata would be better.  The Miata is lighter, has just a few more HP stock than the Focus and this one is a manual vs. my auto Focus.
