That really was touching, I had goosebumps the whole time. Never forget the men and women that lost thier lives on that day adn every day to follow bc of someones selfish acts. 9/11/01.. I will never forget this day, mostly due to the fact that my cousin was due to get on one the flights that went down... someone was watching over him on this day..

so sick of 9/11. people died, lets move on.
and if everyone is a "hero" than I guess Im one too since I go to work and do my job just like they did
no disrespect to the dead but gimme a break.
I completely agree... I don't think most of the poeple "want" to remember what happened.. Videos like this are just a slap in the face. It's time to MOVE on.
I don't like this video at all,, its almost forcing people to "remember".....
Remember what? the fact that we slacked? No we try to do something about "it" and all the god damn tree huggers in this world BITCH!
You can't make everyone happy... but don't make them MORE miserable with this crap.
I can't believe u guys, why couldn't u just be quiet and not post anything then. If u felt that way, then don't click the damn link, I wanted 2 share with people who wanted 2 see it, not 4 u guys 2 dedicate your life and $hit, so move on, don't say 4hit and done. I can't beleive this was posted here, fo all places, wow, I am 4 sure surprised.
Thanks guys, this place has reached it's first new low now.
ok, now I'd not come in here because I was just skimming through and missed it.
I for one will never forget - I was in NYC one week to the very day that Hell came to the city and that scares the shit out of me! I could have chosen to spend my vacation a week later and been killed there. That is the truth.
"Those who forget the past are condemmed to repeat it" ~ George Santayana 1905
We seemed to have forgotten Pearl Harbor and then 9/11 happened...we cannot just sweep these types of happenings under the rug. I'm sorry, but that is my opinion and obviously the opinion of many others.
If you say you're sick of something as completely horrific as this and want to just let it go or forget about it - what did you do, or what do you do to help change your surroundings to help it from happening again? Simple question, not trying to instigate, but that is a valid question.
I personally - have donated time and money toward families and troops and those who have been lost or lost someone due to this nightmare and I continue to support our troops - some of which are members here in this forum. I thank whatever god/goddess that be that they all survive and can come home to the ones they love and to those that love them.
I could not go into the armed forces because I have had kidney failure and disease since I was 10 years old. I really didn't grasp the fact that I would never be able to enter the Navy until I was 16 and understood what my illness really meant.
I'm thankful everyday that my Father came home from Vietnam. He chose to go and was not drafted, but he saw fighting and he was shot at and he shot at others. Why? because he was told to. What did he get when he returned...hatered and name calling because he was helping to keep a country free from the communism that was pounding its fist harder and harder down on its people.
Thank you Carmen for posting this and I know of a website, if it is still up that I want to post as well...it actually started years before the 9/11 event and shows some beutiful images of the towers in all types of weather and lighting.

ok all - we know opinion is going to be voiced especially on such a touchy topic.
Pat, no reason to be sarcastic like that...you know that's really not necessary - you're a mod for crying out loud...we're all allowed our opinion...She just became defensive.
Some want to forget, others, not unlike myself can't. It was and still is emotional for me every time this damn date comes around because I think of how close, again, I came to my own mortality but didn't die. I was lucky...thousands weren't and many die every damn day out in those damned deserts. I don't want them their.
I was at the race track having a great time on 9/11/04 and they stopped for a moment of silence and then we had Bunny Burkett with her dedication to them (she did an interview) and the flag mounted on the front of her Funny Car while she did her burnout. I was lucky to have the chance to be there and I still get extremely emotional about it because I care too damn much about people even when I'm treated like crap.
I love everyone...for the most part...until they do something that is evil/hateful or cold. I don't love Bin Ladin, that's for sure becuase he is filled with hate.
remember, as the boss said - opinions are welcomed - even though they may not fit your own.
now, drop 'em and lemme see them cheeks fellas!

I'm defensive? who came in and started crying about dissenting opinions?
and as far as remembering 9/11 goes, why? it happened. and your quote about repeating the past is completely misguided. If you actually UNDERSTOOD the saying you would know that it refers to learning from your actions. Remembering that one day a building or 3 fell down does not keep the event from occuring again, nor does foretting it fascillitate the recurrance.
what have I done to better my surroundings? well for one, I havent joined the military and gone a mission designed solely to comit national suicide by inciting further attatcks. And I'll have you know that I waited 18 hours to donate blood that day, for what good it did.
Understand that nothing can ever protect you from dieing. One day you will die and it may be from a "terrorist". There is no possible way that you can ever be protected from either death or death by malice. So knowing that, you can either hide in a hole or continue to live the way you did before. the constant reminder of 9/11 serves only to give politicians the leverage to take away more of your freedom, to spend more of your money on war (instead of say better/cheaper healthcare chelly?) I contend that I am showing more respect to those affected by moving on than those who keep invoking their death for selfish or fearful motivations. Its time for the hero worship to end, and the living to begin again.
Personally I think that if people want to remember let them, if they want to forget, let them. Its all a matter of the person that you are and how things have affected your life. No one should point the finger and say a person cant think this way or they should think that way. Just my opinion...
