I was coming home from Wal Mart today and I decided to take the freeway as streets where packed w/ people. This woman in a Durango w/ kids did not like the way that I was driving slow. So she pulls out from behind me and decided that she would cut me off, cause I was going the speed limit of 50mph. I hit the brakes and she served out of the way. Only problem was there was another pick truck in front of me going slower than the 50mph and I had to avoid hitting that truck, so I took the off ramp hoping that I could slow the car down enough, so that nothing would happen. Of course cause of the roads being wet, that was not to be, I hit the barrior and hit it hard. Here are the pics that I took when I limped her back home. Damn does my life suck. I have no way of paying for this damage. Hopefully I can get the insurance to have her fixed. The pics are hosted on Image Station.

I have added more pics to Image Station. From what it looks like so far, is that I knocked it out of alignment really badly. I don't see any suspension damage. I have to wait till saturday to see if she just needs an alignment or suspension replaced.

That's really too bad. I hope your ins. pays for it. If you have collision coverage it should. There'll probably be a deductable tho.

I have full coverage in the collision department. Deductable is about $100.00 for  me. I think.

Well the focus is getting picked up tomorrow morning w/ the body shop. Good thing is I know the owner of the bodyshop ver well. He has been working on both of our cars.  Now the bad news is that I have to pay for Rental as this is not covered in the insurance, now that the misses and I are no longer together. Yes some of you know what I mean, to the others, the wife and I are getting a divorce. Sucks to be single again. Oh well.

well, looks like you broke the rear shock and I would bet on a bent tie rod. I cant tell for sure but is the rear hub snapped where ther control arms meet? rims should be cheap off ebay and the suspension damage looks reletively cheap.

the only way you can change the camber of any of the wheels without lowering or raising the vehicle is by breaking something.:(

Glad that you go the VM. Bad news chelly, no I was not able to grab the plates. Everything happened so fast that I was trying to avoid hitting another truck in front that was going slower than myself and had to serve from hitting the other truck. I had my car towed today and was told when I got there, that there was alot of suspension damage. Not sure how much, but looking to be around $600-$2000. My focus is only worth $2700 on the payoff. Hmmm, maybe I can get the car totaled out and get something newer.

Oh and BTW it SUCKS driving a Damn Neon as a rental.

Well here is the latest in what is going on w/ my car. I heard back today the left front inner and outer tie rod and right front inner and outer tie rods are destroyed. There is a possiblity of a right side Strut Tower that my be blown out. As far as the rear end is concerned the back end is so messed up that my car has to be taken to a bigger body shop to see if the body has been tweeked. There is a 50/50 percent chance that the insurance compay may call it a write off.

Inner tie rods alone are 1.5 hrs labor each.

Rear trailing arm is about $100 each.

Rear lower Control arm is about $80(i think)

Rims from ford are at least $130 each

My Sony(80K) just got checked for trade in (was board and wanted to see how hard I was gonna laugh) and told me $2500.

What will a totaled car do to your insurance??? Will it go up? Mine did for a totaled 90 Nissan Sentra (My truck ate the Sentra). Technicaly my truck (1983) was totaled also cause it had $500 worth of damage with out the sheet metal fixed but I only had liability.

Well talked to the repair shop and was told that it was not enough damage to total out my focus. Oh well. Good thing is now I don't have to get a suspension for the car and I needed an alignment anyway. I tried to convince the guy to get the SVT Suspension. That was a NO GO. Frick.
