As you might remember, I brought my car back to ford a few weeks ago due to a small swimming pool that I found in my spare tire well. Ford was really good about it, I got a rental car for 4 days and they fixed my car. From the amount of water that had been in the trunk, the carpet that goes over the spare tire shrunk from being so wet, not to mention the smell is terrible. Ford told me they would replace it under warranty.... They ordered me a new carpet, I waited 6 days for it. I got to pick it up, and it wasnt even for a focus.. so ok.. they order another one, i wait two more days. I went to go pick that one up tonight.. still not the right now. This one looked to be right, but when placed into t he car, it is too short on both sides by at least an inch and a half to two inches. The service guy was convinced I was doing it wrong but he soon found that no matter how or which way you turn it, it did not fit right.
So, my question is this, I am in search for a part number for that rear carpet. I know ther eis one on the bottom of my current carpet thats still in the car, but the techs punched that number into the computer and it wouldnt come up with anything ... so tomorrow ill grab the number.. but any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

This is such a common problem. I hardly know anyone, who hasn't experienced this. I fail to understand what the problem is. Not only do they have all the info on the car, but they've even got pictures with arrows that point to the correct part. Morons!!
Goddammit Tiff, you've got me pissed off just hearing about it.

Dont worry guys...Lexus is just as bad. I needed a new underbody panel, took 2 weeks. when i got there, i waited in the waiting room for two hours, than they came out and said it was the wrong piece!!!
I was pissed, just for the fact i waited TWO hours.
Chica I did do a search as much as I could. The only thing that I have been able to find are companies that sell the OEM rear hatch carpet. No part number's sorry. The ones that are on Ebay are the ones from http://www.accmats.com in bold colors. Heck when I had to have my entire carpet replaced, it took three months to get in. Due to the fact that this was when I first bought the focus back in 2000 and parts where really not available then. Came from Mexico.
