I knew RI had some of the highest cig taxes in the nation, glad I don't smoke!

But holy god, 11% sales tax in AL? That's insanity! I cross over into MA all the time to save 2% off my 7!:shock:

Yes, I am a non-smoker - Former actually and I hate it...I think it's gross and it costs the non-smoking US taxpayer FAR too much in medical costs.  Medicare & Medicaid pays for oxygen and medications for people with lung problems due to smoking.  NOT ok in my book.

My mother is ill with COPD/Emphasema due to smoking, her father died of Emphasema due to smoking and Dan's father died due to smoking.  No more proof needed for me!

IMO, smoking is one of the worst things you can do to yourself. As an added "benefit", you can also take others down with you.
