LOL as soon as I've used up the film roll, I'll drop them off for processing (with a CD). I'm taking pics as each stage is done. I've got pics as the salvage dealer, pics after I got it home, pics without the fenders and bumper... and I'll probably finish the roll off Wed. night after I take off the radiator/support/etc.
Let me tell you, she's not pretty on the outside yet, but it's what's inside that counts
Well, done working on it for today. Got the radiator support off, tried to get the radiator and A/C condenser off but they're pinned between the engine block and the frame horn. So I went into the interior aand did a little work there. I cut the airbags out and fixed the passenger side airbag cover. It's not perfect but It's better than it was, and it's good enough for me I also went and got a "service key" made today (without the PATS chip) so I can unlock the hatch and the steering wheel (previous owners must've kept the keys- can't blame them, I still have mine).
I went in the trunk to check things out- MAN the people must've loved this car. The trunk is as perfectly clean as the interior. And guess what I found in there? First off, I got the head unit (the dealer put it in there for safe keeping)... it's an aftermarket CD/MP3 player! Sweet! Score #2: Amp wiring! The RCA cables and power cables are already there!
Here in a few mins I'll go finish off that roll of film (got like 5 pics left) then run it to Wal-Mart. Pictures should be up in a week or so!
Good to know the previous owners took such good care of the inside at least! How exactly did you get the car/what was the matter? Sounds like your typical front-end collision...
Quick question, is the AC condenser the "panel" more in front toward the bumper or in back toward the engine? One of mine is bent (damn possums) and I don't know which it is, or if one's cheaper/easier to replace than the other?
The A/C condenser is the piece that looks like a radiator, which is attatched directly in front of the radiator. It doesn't look like it'd be that bad to get off. Mine's just stuck between the (bent) frame and engine block.
I found the car in Auto Trader in the salvage section, went and took a look at it and hauled it home the next day. It's gonna take a lot of work, and some money, but I feel it'll be worth it in the end.
