Ya know Joe - on this I'm going to agree with you.
I am tired of all these other countries getting these excellent, many times powerful AND fuel efficient vehicles and what do we get for small and mid-sized? NOTHING!
I don't mind the whole idea of the new Focus, but I have to say, I feel they have cheaped out on the interior. (i apologize to any new 2005 owners).
The UK gets fuel efficient Diesels & turbo boosted Foci, the Aussie's get a rear wheel drive, turboed Taurus with a sexy look and interior!
Come on Ford, don't you see what you're doing to the American car market? Keep on going this way and you'll send us all to Honda, Toyota, Mazda and Nissans soon!

Isn't ford an american company. Shouldn't we be getting all the cool stuff/ Not trying to be a smatass or anything, it just seems like that would a good idea.

Problem is the US is to tight on restrictions(emissions and such) and safety...
The falcon gets 19mpg and I beleve that would put Ford in a situation where they would have to cut a car line in the states due the average MPG manufacturers need to meet. And the reason we bon't have stock euro vumpers here is because of the 5mph impact pating needed. Europe is at like 2-3 mph impact rating. Little things like this keep us from having all the good toys. Oh ya and I'm politics have a lot to do with it to.

Ford could have brought in the TDCi and done themselves a favour on their CAFE numbers but that would have required more than a 3 watt bulb lighting the planning dept's brains. We just added another VW TDi so my Focus is the last "American" car in the parking lot. Looks like the Liberty Diesel may also join the fleet. A buddy just bought the new chrysler 300. RWD, great fuel economy and just under 30K Cdn $, terrific car for the money.
It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who ask me about the ZX5. They've never seen one and all they know about is the Focus sedan or wagon and to a much lesser extent the 3 door.

to me, it looks like it has RSX headlights and almost sentra-like tails.. but i'd take it anyway.. sux that they get all of the god stuff, and we're left scraping the bottom of the barrel... time to move to australia! who's comin' with me?
Actually some day we will be planning a trip over to Gold Coast 2 visit the Big cat park, I think it's called, where u can see bengal tigers and white tigers. It will be cool. And maybe we can act like rich people and test drive those cars, LOL
Screw ford, that is why I'm building my own focus rs. The only difference when I'm done is that my car will not have a 65mm wider track but will have way more power. Take that ford, you can't stop me you can only hope to contain me.

WE are constanty getting ripped off and Ford definatly needs to open their eyes and see what they are causin. I agree with Chelly in the fact that if they don't start giving us a good quality car, then we are going to go to another name. WAKE UP FORD!!
