Well I'm here and alive. Two weeks ago I was single and a Kentucky resident... my how fast things change.

I went to Wisconsin on the 19th to look for a job. I took the '68 Dodge out for the first time, and got pulled over in it for the first time because it's "too loud". But I didn't get a ticket, and the cop likes my car.

On the 20th I had one interview, which went well. The guy said he really wanted to hire me but there were no available positions. He said to keep in touch, however, in case something comes open or if I want some temporary work if I get laid off or something. I made a few phone calls and got an interview for the 21st. I also got a temp job in Chicago for the company my dad and brother work for on the weekend doing some wiring and a little conduit (the place had a fire and needed some quick repair work). That night I went and saw my friend Josh and his wife in Oshkosh.

So Thursday I went to my interview (I don't even know the name of the company). The guy talked to me for a while and hired me! He told me that he and his partner got their start much like I am now- going through the schooling and then getting started working for a small-time contractor. So this is awesome, I got a job in Milwaukee! I start on the 8th and will be moving up there on the 5th or 6th.

Friday I went to Chicago and got to work. I got lost when I went to pick up supplies and lost about 2 hours working time, but still got paid. Chicago is one hell of a confusing city. Stayed the night at the Holiday Inn (wow now I know why Chingy made a song about it! Talk about a sweet place to stay!) and ate steak and lobster at Outback. Mmmm.

Saturday I finished up and headed back to Milwaukee, then headed to my mom's house in Janesville. Had a good time, ate dinner with her and her fiance, stayed the night there and hung around for a while in the morning. Got back to Mil-town and re-freaking-laxed.

Sunday I pretty much just relaxed some more. Hey, this is a vacation! I took the Dodge out for a spin and worked on the carb for a while (running rich). Got it running better but I think it's a little lean now.

Monday I was going to take the Dodge to a car cruise, but it got rained out. Chilled out and got my crap together for the ride back home.

CLIFF NOTES: Went to Milwaukee, got a job, start next week. Took the '68 Dodge out a couple times, worked the weeked.

So I got back here Tuesday night. Wednesday we went and got out marriage license. Yikes! We also went to Bible study with the minister who did our wedding and discussed the ceremony.

I worked Thursday and Friday nights, we did a little shopping to finish up for the wedding.

Saturday was the big day. We did it! Holy crap I'm married. WTF was I thinking? LOL j/k. We went and stayed the night at a hotel. Went to bed early... we were SO wore out!

And now it's Sunday. Wow how time flies.

CLIFF NOTES: Got married Saturday.

Residential electrician. I'll be wiring houses and apartment complexes. I went to school for a year to train for this kind of work. In 3 years I can get my journeyman certificate.

At least Residential Electrical is not as much of a pain than commercial electrical, not to mention the brutal heat in Florida. Congrats. :drink

Yeah residential is soooo much better than commercial/industrial. I hated the little bit of c/i I did have to study. 3-phase is confusing. If 110v + 110V = 220v, why does 110v + 110v + 110v = 3-phase 240v? it should be 360v! AHH!

I can't wait to get moved back "home" to Wisconsin. Kentucky sux teh ballz.

Really, it's not KY I hate- it's country life. I NEED CITY! Viva los ciuadades!
