This is why my dogs dont go anywhere unless they are with me or someone I trust with MY life. And my dogs are completely trained both on and off leash before they go anywhere where a porcupine or hog or whatever it is could be around i.e. the state park.

My dogs ESPECIALY my pit do not go anywhere if I am not there. There isn't a single person (sorry honey!) that I trust to take her out and to know what to do etc.

My dogs aren't in a small apartment, like the person mentioned, but they are kept leashed. They are watched 24/7 and we protect them as we are supposed to when we choose to become owners.

I failed to read the thread, the picture was enough.
There are leash laws for a reason and in my book they are to protect the dog not the community. How many times have I read stories about dogs going onto someone's property only to be shot at or something else.
My dog is trained and he sticks around, but you never know when they may bolt and for what reason. Get spooked by a truck using it's engine brakes, see an animal they've never seen before...car accident, who knows, ya know?
Anyway, off my soap box, I think this is just horrible what happened to this dog. I'm wondering if the poor thing went blind from those quills!

Chelly, this is actualy on Snopes also. From what I remember reading, the dog is doing perfectly fine now.
