Have a good, safe one.The little ones have already been running around. Just had a couple of Darths come to the door, first UNICEF box so I stuffed it. Twonies, are great! (Twonie is what we call a $2.00 coin) I always get one child that is more excited about his/ her UNICEF box than the candy. I like getting that one kid to help me see how much money we can cram in to the box.

I don't think I've ever seen a UNICEF kid, I never had a box. I guess my neighborhood is full of candy-grabbing heathens that can't be bothered to learn charity. Eek. Sadly, my mom reports only 15 kids this year, even though she still got like 8 bags of candy.
We used to get dozens of kids, now we're all grown up or people moved or something, it's sad. I bought a couple bags here at my apartment and left them on my porch with pumpkins lit near them, and a witch's hat. I had to go to night class and came home 2 hours later to full bags
Here in Morgantown, I read in the paper, TrickOrTreat is only from 6-7?! I don't think we ever had set "times", like publically determined? And certainly it was more than an hour if we did?! We just stopped bothering homes when the lights were out, or when our parents came and got us for bed.
I feel bad, I love seeing the kiddies in costumes, and now I have this candy I have to eat by myself, crap!

Those Unicef boxes didnt come around this year. The kid got one. We asked which one he wanted to do, he said get money for the poor kids.... but then asked if we could go back out and get candy. alteast he sort of had his heart in the right place. Next year we will hit up 2 towns in 2 nights... one for candy.. one for money... should be a good time.... and get full use out of the costume too!!
Things around here are starting to pick up with the kiddies though. Years in the past have been a little slow but looks like all the kids are starting to have kids so the numbers are increasing again!!!

YEA! Family moved in down the street a couple of months ago. Just been able to say hi in passing. Dad was out with his 2 little ones. First time that we got to chat. Children didn't have candy bags, just UNICEF boxes. I invited them in and we sat on the floor and stuffed the boxes. When a 3 or 4 year old can look at you straight in the face and tell you that she doesn't need candy but other kids need help you know that some things are right with the world.
Her dad was laughing when he said that he'd been thinking about putting on a costume but decided that a Sikh dressed up as Batman wouldn't fool anyone.
