I don't understand half this computer crap. If i want to send someone a email (like a mod here) i have to enter some kinda incoming mail server and some outgoing smtp server. What the hell are they talking about?

Capt. - Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express to send email?

Normally the mail server information is provided by your ISP.

I'm sorry you're having problems, I'm not certain what's going on, but I've never had an issue w/ emailing anyone.

I do use Outlook 2000 though.

HTTP = HyperText Transfer Protocol
SMTP= Send Mail Transfer Protocol (IIRC)
^^ Don't quote me on teh SMTP thing, I just took a very wild guess..

Anyways... for the incoming / outgoing server stuff, in your e-mail client (MS Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, etc.), there should be settings to set all this up.  You can also tell Outlook / Thunderbird / e-mail client of choice to store your username and password to use each time you access these servers.

Most mail servers nowadays are POP3.  I forget what the acronym is of POP3, but from what I've seen, it seems fairly standard.

Check with your ISP, and they can walk you through as to how to set that up.

Hope this helps
