Sorry for the long lapses in posting. I have been having a rough year. On top of the computer issues and looking for the cat, we had the house broken into on fri. Really pisses me off because they did it in braod daylight. I lost all my jewelry and my digital camera and amongst a bunch of other stuff, they got keys so needless to say, I am scared to death to leave and know I have to. UGHHHH What is wrong with the world today!!!!!

awww jeez techs!  I'm sorry hun!

is there anything we can help you with?  Do you need anything right at the moment?  You're not that far away that we can't help.

Please tell me you were insured?  I know a lot of ppl. don't think of these things, but even if you're a renter, these stupid things happen...I wish they didn't either, but sadly enough they do.

I'd be getting me a few heavy duty locks for doors and windows.  not to mention they have some alarms that can be purchased that are motion sensitive - not a whole system mind you because I know there is major cost involved there, but something that will give off one hell of a noise should someone try that crap again.

Outside of that I've known ppl. to hook up motion detectors to their pc which triggers a dog barking.  Then again, when you get kitty back, that scenario may not be good.

I wish i had an answer for you on how to feel safer.  I know I'd feel like I was violated if someone did this to me.

Mike has homeowners insurance, but with what was stolen and the depreciation value, we may not cover the deductable so he probably won't claim it and jsut cut our losses. We are looking into getting a Rottweiler that is still young enough to get used to kids, but fully trained and will eventually have attack training. I also am looing into an alarm system for the house as well. Thanks for the suggestions!!!! :)
