Unless carfax was told that the truck was totalled, then it wont show up there. Thats the problem with that system, they dont know everything about every car.
You didnt get a look at the title before you bought the truck? I would assume that you got a loan for it so the loan people would have it, but still, if it was a salavage then the title should have said so.
Sounds like you just found yourself a sleeze. You didnt ask if it was salvage or not so he just didnt hand out that info.
Im not sure if there is really anything you cando. If the truck has been running well, no problems with the body or anything I think I would just be thankful for that and pray nothing happens before its time for another new car.

If you know of any laws protecting you I'd bring that damned thing back and demand my money back...report this zero to the Better Business Bureau and even mention it to your financial institution who holds your title.
It's a tough racket out there and I know many ppl. who've been had in more ways than one in the automotive business of purchasing.
You need to educate yourself on the 'art' of it all. I highly recommend you check out http://www.edmunds.com for info on how to really shop for a vehicle.
Also, like I said, contact your local BBB and also contact your states Attny General's website to see if you have any recourse...you can always ask them questions and they're usually very good at getting back to you.
I hope your vehicle is ok, but If you're state has no laws to protect you...dont' know how long you've had the truck...but that is where I would start to see if you have any recourse.
Best of luck to you!

I bought a 2002 chevy xtreme from a dealer and he told me that "It was repoed that is why there was no body kit" that is when he told me that he was asking for $6000.00 i said ok when i got home i looked at the paper work and it said that i was paying well over $11,000.00 as you can see i was nery angry. anyays i went back before i had made the payment (3 days after i signed the paper work) bullied him a little and am now paying a little under $6000.00 for the truck.
a few monthes had passed and i met the previous owner through a mitual friend of ours, and he told me that he had totaled the truck in mid 2006 and the bought a beautiful street bike which he then showed me. the dealer never told me the title was a salvage title, and the it had been totaled. which is aginst the law.
Car fax says that there is nothing wrong with the truck at all, but the dealer isnt very honest. if the title was taken to a different state to be "cleaned" would carfax tell me?
Who do i believe the dealer (Whom has allready tricked me) and carfax, or the friend of a friend with the bike. If the dealer is right and the friend of a friend is lying ok no big deal, but if the dealer is lying he is more than likely doing it to others.
What do I Do?

id do some serious digging on whats happening and get the police and your financial institution in on it. but first go to an actual chevy dealer and have them verify weather or not its an actual extreme. kinda sounds like vins may have been switched, but dont quote me.
salvage titles are salvage titles in any state, very hard to clean without friends in the dmv. damage titles however are easy as each state has different amounts they claim. find a state with a higher amount, title it there and bam, its done and clean.
Also was the truck really totaled or just have a verry large repair bill. It is possible to hve 10grand worth of damage done to a 11G or 12G car and the insurance will not deem it totaled and just have it repaired.
some people will say a torn off front bumper to dented front fenders and to broken headlights a totaled car. Some will say it's totaled judst because it "looks bad".
If the truck was really totaled the guy would have had to buy it back from the insurance company(or salvage yard that bought it) and than he would had to have payed to rebuilt it himself. If he wrecked it and than got it back after it was fixed it was most likely not deemed totaled. But I could be wrong.
