Its been a while since I was here last, I wasnt sure my login would still work, LOL.  Believe it or not I still play around with the Focus but mainly from customer rides that I service and help take care of.

Im also an admin on a national Pontiac Grand Prix forum so that has kept me busy as the site is growing like crazy.

Ive been even busier with projects for the Grand Prix.  Im currently in the process of rebuilding a spare transmission and beefing it up for some track time.  Ive got a 300M hardened input shaft for it, hardened output shaft, hardened pump shaft, hardened 4th clutch hub shaft, single drive chain (as opposed to factory dual chain.  Single chain is much beefier and able to handle much more power) with 2.93 final gear.  I may go to 3.29 but I havent decided on that yet.  High energy frictions and clutches, shift kit, heavy duty valve body.  All thats going in the transmission.  Ive got the work started, Im just waiting for it to warm up a little more to finish everything.

I have a ported supercharger, ported throttle body, ported lower intake manifold ready to go on.  I also have Comp Cam Roller Rockers, Comp Cam heavy duty push rods, LS6 Valve springs.  I may put in some Comp Cam hydraulic roller lifters, but that will depend on the condition of the existing OEM roller lifters already in there.

I have a modular pulley system for the supercharger, with a 3.4" pulley.  Ive already been running that and I cant begin to describe the fun factor that adds.  All I can say is boost comes on fast and hard and you better be ready for it

When I pull the tranny I'll be upgrading the brakes all the way around as well and adding SS Braided brake lines, I'll be taking out the existing fuel lines and adding in SS Braided fuel lines as well from tank to rail.  I'll also put in a new JP Rollmaster timing chain.  My garage is literally full of stuff to be put on as soon as it warms up and I can yank out the existing tranny to put in the rebuilt one.  About the only thing left to do will be headers and I havent decided on which ones to use.  I have a tuning package to go in an edit the computer so I want to get a good tune before I put headers on.

I guess thats about all for now.  I'll eventually get some new pics and see what all of you think.  I want to get more of the work done first though.  The plan is to spend a little more time at the track this year.  I didnt do a lot of storm chasing last year so I gotta do something to occupy my time, LOL.

Anyway, let me know what all of you have been up to.  I need to make a point to swing back by here more often.  I hope everyone is doing well.

WOW! You've been buisy with your car.

My focus is still the same as it was over 2 years ago. I have been fixing my Toyota 4x4 to keep it on the road thought. Fix frame, fill rust holes, try to stop oil leaks, etc.

Glad to see your still around and kicking and haven't forgotten about us.

and the thing we were talking about like 6+ months ago. I'm still trying to pin down a name but been buisy with loads of other things and well ya, I've been putting if off as well.

Hope the hollidays were good to you. I got NO car parts.

Yeah, some of the work is pending the tranny being pulled, other parts of it are done.  I just decided that if Im going to go through the trouble of rebuilding a tranny then when I pull the thing I need to make sure everything else is current and taken care of.

I have not forgot our discussions and I certainly understand being busy.

Holidays were fantastic.  Im kinda bummed they are over with in a way, but thats okay, the sooner it warms up the sooner I can get the rest of this work done and the sooner I can get the thing back out to the track.

It looks like it's been a while since anyone was here.  Is the Focus dream over? I know I just sold mine.

Well, I think it probably is, or is rapidly on the way. I still have & love my '02 ZX3, but IMO Ford has FUBAR'ed the Focus so badly that it's hard for me to believe that any car enthuiast would want to buy one. If I were looking for another car, I know I certainly wouldn't buy another one. There's no hatchback, which is an absolute must for me. There's no wagon. Manual trans cars are only available in dealer's brochures. And also IMO, they look like hell.

Mine has 70,000 on it, and has been virtually trouble free. I love the handling, the ride, the room, and the 32mpg that I average year 'round. I even like the way it looks. But buy one that was made in the last 3-4 years??? No thanks.

I just moved to DC and there's no need to have two cars here so I sold mine. It was a very good car for me.  You're right on the new focus V - have you seen the new Fiesta they introduced at the Geneva Auto Show?  That should be the new US focus!
