yeah, suv's piss me off. they're big, suck gas, and hog the road. a friend of mine calls 'em "FUV's" for F you Vehicles. cuz theyre like: "f you!! i've got a big ass vehicle and i own you!!!" just my opinion. o yeah and if we didnt have all the fuv's we'd prolly have more cool euro and japan imports w/ no detuning. I havent heard of many fuv's in japan. more motorcycles and bicycles than anything. i say the biggest engine needed nowadays is a v6. v8s, v10s, and v12s are not needed. Save gas and haul ass, not suck gas and haul ass. v6, and inline 6's have enough power to get a vehicle up to speed. well i spose we can keep the ponycars like the 'stang and the vette and camaro, but please destroy the fuv. hey heres an idea, fuv's should be required to have 6 or even bettter 5 or 4 cylinders. grrrrrrr fuv's make me mad. suckin my gas gettin 12mpg. im content w/ my focus. enough power and handling for my every need. well when it works anyway
I say ban em. Most of the dopes that purchase those things never use them for the intended purpose. A good percentage of SUV purchasers are just Status Clingers. It's just a fad anyhow, it'll die off like every other car fad.
there is arnold's budget solution right there! start enforcing it HEAVILY and direct the revenue to CDOT. cancel state funding to the CDOT and save a wad!
I can't stand these road hogging, gas swilling, new age soccer mom mobiles that have to take up a space and a half in a parking lot and drive 90mph down the highway with the momentum to make any passenger car a speck of road kill.
Just last night, the full length of 101 West from 33 to Manchester - there was a 250 or a 350Ford hauling a BOAT going an average of 80mph...proceeded to cut off traffic all around him and then on the 101-93 spur tried to take up 2 lanes so he wouldn't lose his boat going 70+ up and around that damn turn...THEN - continued on through the construction near the Mall and plowed through (extra wide due to the boat mind you) through those barriers which are narrow and around nearing that bridge just before the 293 spur. What an a$$hole!
Use them for what they were meant for, drive them safely and I don't have a problem. I personally wouldn't own a minivan if I had children, but I really don't see me owning a Yukon anytime soon either.
I personally feel anyone who owns these vehicles should have to pay an extra tax or road fee each year to pay for the mess they cause!
How many SUV's do you see roll vs. passenger cars? Anyone?
