The guets of honor is Charley. He's making quite a name for himself in Tampa and I think we should have a party. A pool party! With melon margaritas! And fajitas! So if anyone is interested, it will be at my house abd all you have to do is take I-75 down here and follow the balloons. I'll be waitin'.

I seriously wish i could be there. I love the hurricanes. We never get the full strength of them here in the North East. We usually just get the left overs here.

well he'll be a tropical storm or depression (I forget which) by the time he gets up to you guys. I guess he's predicting that he's gonna be partying too much.

Never been in a hurricane before. This should be interesting.

According to the forecasts, you could make this a "rolling" party, starting in Fl., then going up the E. coast to Me.

That was the crappiest hurricane ever! We barely got any rain. At least everything closed down so noone had to work and we had a big party with twister and air hockey and I drank a 24 pack of bud! And my girlie interest of the month showed up and I kicked her ass at air hockey like 10 times! WHOO! She's a confusing one, always playing hard to get and crap. Well I'll show her! I'm gonna ninjafy everyone and move to Tulsa at the end of the month and not tell ANYBODY! Well, except you guys. Oh, and I raced a Scion Tc. It stomped the ol focus. Those things are great, 160hp fully loaded for 16k. Hmmm, I still got a bottle o wine i never got into last night and it is afternoon... who wants to catch a buzz?

I hope everyone is okay in FL.  I wasnt able to make it down there to get any storm pictures, though how I wish I had been able to.  I WILL one day get to take pictures or video footage of a hurricane, its a passion.

At any rate, can anyone tell me what damage, if any, was like in central Florida.  It looks like Charley cut across the Orlando area and my parents live not too far from there and I havent been able to contact anyone there and all the news seems to be on Punta Gorda, thought I read of some damage at Orlando International Airport.

So if anyone has some info, please pass it on.  They could have just packed up and went nort to some relatives to get out of the path, but Im not sure at this point.  Thanks for any help.

Hey, bring it on. Move'em all to Tulsa.  We'll have a Central Plains Section yet.  Wooo Hooo.

Punta Gorda is a itty bitty little town that you wouldn't even notice if the speed limit didn't drop to 35. It's basically a trailer park town and you know how disasters always find those. We barely got any rain, although we're south of daytona about an hour and a half.

Cool.  Well I gues it lost a lot of intensity then when it came on shore.  The track, as best I can put it together, seems to be from Punta Gorda, up through Orlando and then out over Daytona.  But the only major damage reports Im getting are from Punta Gorda, which would be expected since that is where it made land fall and when it did it was a category 4 hurricane.  And thats just one level down from what Hurrican Andrew was.

At anyrate, if anyone hears of anything locally about central Florida, please post it here.  I guess if I dont get a hold of them today I will call the local police and see if they will drive out there and just see if the house is still standing, if so then I'll be pretty certain they just went north to get out of the way.  Thanks for the info Captain J.

Okay, I just talked to my brother-in-law and everyone is okay.  There wasnt much where they live, just some wind and rain.  Apparently the track of the hurricane was along the I-4 corridor, so if you know anyone along that way you might want to call and make sure everything is okay.

Im now looking at reports of two more hurricanes inbound.  One is projected into the Gulf of Mexico by later this week and they are saying that right now it is following the path of Charlie.  There is another hurricane off the cost of Africa now but they are anticipating it will stay out to sea.  The trouble I have with that is that is the same thing that was said of Andrew even just a couple of days before it hit Florida.  The one off the coast of Africa was stronger too as well than the one approaching the Gulf of Mexico, sorry, I dont recall their names right now.  I believe the hurricane off the coast of Africa was called Danielle.

Danielle is the one by Africa and the other one is Earl. Heard about them on Saturday.

So my hurricane party was sitting with my grandparents and mom and putting together a puzzle. Oooooo. Exciting. Then my dad sat on me and proceeding to beat me until he asked me nicely to take the dog out (I'm such a smart ass to him). Then I went home because I was tired. Got home, laid down and did not move until noon on Saturday. That was my party.

I really have no life. God I can't wait till school starts. I'm so bored.
