Earlier today. I was on my way to Wally World in Somersworth NH when I was in the left lane and saw that this black car cut me off and I mean cut me off. Then swerved back into her lane. At the last moment I wonder why she did this, I found out. Stopped dead in the middle of the street was a Ford Ranger Pick up truck. I slammed on the brakes hard and I mean hard. Jerked to the wheel to the left to keep from rear ending the Ranger truck. When I did this, apparently there was a patch of dirt on the street left by the rain. Course street was dry. The minute I hit the dirt my focus literally drifted sideways in the opposite side of the traffic I all could remember seeing was the 15 cars veering towards me @45 mph. The all slammed on their brakes to keep from hitting me. My Focus wound up in going the other direction, like I was going home instead of going to Walmart. The car caught anther patch of dirt and through my focus onto the sidewalk. I was soo shaken that it was not even funny. I backed my car off of the sidewalk and drove into the parking lot of the Bingo Hall parking lot. Where two guys saw that my car spun out of control, came by to make sure I was ok. No one saw what kind of car it was. I vaugley remembering that it was black. That's all I could remember. One of the guys asked me if I was alright and I said yes, just shaken pretty bad. I had to laugh for a bit. the guy said, I was lucky to be driving a focus. If this was a Chevy, the car would have flipped. I thought for sure myself that I was going either flip my focus or roll her. Nope. Nothing done to the focus. Just burned alot of Rubber from drifting sideways. Home now in one peace. This is why after all the shitz I have dealt w/ my focus, that I will buy another focus. My girl saved my life.

Scary as hell! There's nothing quite as eye-opening as an up close & personal lesson in physics.

I'm glad you are alright, I have to say that for what it's worth the Focus does seem to handle pretty well in unfavorable emergency environments.  It just seems to take care of itself.

I woke up this morning w/ a sore back. Went to work and could not stand the pain. Good thing I still had some perc's left to kill the pain. Talk about being in la la land. Any who, I just check underneath the front end suspension to see if anything happed to the CVT joint and absolutley nothing done to her. Like I said, forget getting anything else but anoher focus. Glad I have her.

Oh jeesh Alex!  I am so sorry this happened!

Glad you're ok, outside of the aches and pains and the damage.  It could have been so much worse!

The aches and pains are probably from stiffening up and the adrenaline rush that just rips through you in that situation.  I remember it took me a good couple of weeks to feel better from my accident.

Hang in there.  Glad you're still here!
