I believe they are the same. If they are different is will only be slightly different. Wait I think there is a VCT(or something) version of the contour 4cil. But as long as it is the basic ztec they should all be the same.

I believe?????

Ya, the VCT stnds for "variable cam timing" and it was in the zx2's I believe. I think that this system advances or retards the exhaust cam, sort of like on the SVt zetec. I believe that it is only one cam that is advanced or retarded. If you get one of these motors, be absolutely sure to get the computer that goes with it, because I'm pretty sure thats what controls the VCT. I think the contuor zetecs are the same as the focus ones. Just my .02.

you have to look out for ones with VCT. there might be a way to modify them but I am not experienced with them. Any other moter will probablly have the wrong windage tray. this is totally swapable, you just get a focus windage tray off ebay(easy to find) and swap it with the old one.

you have auto trans right? If you get a donor motor that is for a manual, you will need to swap the flywheel of course and the mounting block for the crank angle sensor. you have to take off the flywheel(flexplate) to get to it so be sure to swap it BEFORE you put it all back together. If you dont, it will not start and you will be pissed.

Okay, so no zetec with VCT, right? Dammit, well hmmmm, may as well just go with a brand new surplus zetec then to be positive that it works
