hey guys Im new to the site , but ive been messing around with 97 escort 4 door with the SPI since I bought it new. Ive picked up alot of information since and I also saw that jeff is over here posting who has an SPI swap in his gen 2 escort

my car has seen everything from auto x'ing shows, and now im going for all speed and handling and no show at all

I have a newer SPI bottom end with my 97/top end ( to retain return line setup and I got a good deal) I also have a trans out of a 2000 escort SE

for goodies I have
- Ractive strut bar
- tokico SR struts
- ground control coilovers
- home made camber correction kit for rear and shims in front
- solid urethane motor mount (upper)
- gutted cat with 2.25" to a hayame can
- cta long tube CAI
- msd coilpack and 8.8 wires
- ported intake manifold
- ported intake side of head to 80 grit finish
- ported exhaust side of head (raised hat) and polished
- very minor porting to stock exhaust mani

after all that I cant say my car is much faster but its more than likely because of the auto.....no biggy tho I have an RS manifold from the UK and .42/.48 T3 thats waiting for me to save up a little more money

any questions feel free to ask, it seems most of you think that the spi is a downfall of your focus....I see it as a blessing as the CVH will hold more boost stock for stock internals wise as long as you arent running with bad tuning
