just wondering what there is for injectors on the spi? also hows bout some good plug wires and a suggestion for some plugs. show me where to get hooked up w/ the goods. thanx
On a side note I know you didn't ask but you can use any coil pack meant for a zetec and it'll work the same way in the spi with those magnecor wires. Just a small mounting issues. You need to add some kind of spacer for clearance issues. Or get the pieces that they mount to in the zetecs and use that. But to go that way you have to extend some wiring. Either way you have to make it sort of a custom job but it's simple enough to do.
for the plugs I've never used anything other then the autolite platinums
you can pick those up at any parts store. They also make NGK plugs you can get. They cost more tho I believe. I don't know if they are any better for the spi but I've seen them make a slight difference in terms of how rough the car is idling in hondas.
When looking for this info for you I was sure that the injectors were interchangeable between cars...the rails just need to be modified but now I can't find out for sure so I can't say

I was told if you going to use an aftermarket coil tho only go with the magnecor
so i can get spi wires at this site? also a sidenote: the focus spi uses the same engine as an spi escort zx2? if so: bitchin! i can look up parts at escort zx2 places. also anyone know of some good t/b's to use w/ the spi?
I dont know of any aftermarket SPI injectors. What most people do is to adapt the rail to fit zetec injectors. this involves using some washers as spacers and spicing in the zetec harnesses. Then you can use any of the zetec injectors available. Keep in mind that zetec injectors are already double what the SPI ones are. so just using those is an upgrade
thanx txfo. i suppose u got zetec injectors on ur spi huh? anyways if theres a howto on the injector thing great. but about the spi and zx2spi, if there the same engine i could find stuff for the zx2 spi and use it on my good ol focus. any one care to comment? thanks\
The ZX2 is a zetec. the other escorts are CVHs. basically the predecessor to the sPI. many parts are the same though. log on to escort racing development team. If there are injectors, they would know about them.
now this is a little off topic but i need cooling. i dont want my engine overheating again. i need a temp gauge and a GOOD radiator. where can i get the goods? thanx in advance guys
Sorry one more thing, i'm gonna get a temp gauge and maybe an oil pressure gauge too. what are the normal temp/pressure for the spi? oh yeah how about them oil cooler deals? do they work well? tell me what u think. thanx
Normal temp fot the SPI is under 180*. basically, whatever your thermostat is, thats the upper end of nominal. fluidyne makes a replacement radiator. But I dont think you need one. Just check your fan relay and resistor pack from time to time to make sure that both fans are coming on. I just replaced my thermostat, relay, and switch the other day. preventative maintenance.
oil coolers are always a good thing. Anything that can lower the oil temp is a good thing really. Same with tranny coolers. You can get them from summitracing just do a search for B&M coolers. You need to do some measuring to get the size you'll need. Most people run them in series with the stock cooler so just get under your car and see what dimensions will fit. you can also do a search on these forums and on the old ones. I know this has been talked about but I can't remember exactly where. Look for posts by SyntheticShield. he's been working on adding in extra coolers to his set up and can be a big help in this area. Or just shoot him a pm, he'll help you out.

awesome thanx guys, now do u guys know what normal water temps are for the spi engine? i'd really like to know cuz im gonna get some gauges so my damn engine doesnt overheat again.
