Just check your fan relay and resistor pack from time to time to make sure that both fans are coming on. I just replaced my thermostat, relay, and switch the other day. preventative maintenance.

the SPI does not have a cylander head temp sensor like the zetec. So your temp guage will read coolent temp only. which should hang out around 180 tops.

yeah the minivan. It uses the same filter as the SPI. Hence the stock oil cooler system bolts right up!

I'm not surprised. The ford 2001 Escape has the same power train as the 2.0L focus zetecs

for wires check this site out...under Magnecor wires.

you can also get them from here
http://www.modernperformance.com/ford/zx2.htm
they list them for the escort but it'll still work it's also an spi engine

On a side note I know you didn't ask but you can use any coil pack meant for a zetec and it'll work the same way in the spi with those magnecor wires. Just a small mounting issues. You need to add some kind of spacer for clearance issues. Or get the pieces that they mount to in the zetecs and use that. But to go that way you have to extend some wiring. Either way you have to make it sort of a custom job but it's simple enough to do.

for the plugs I've never used anything other then the autolite platinums
you can pick those up at any parts store. They also make NGK plugs you can get. They cost more tho I believe. I don't know if they are any better for the spi but I've seen them make a slight difference in terms of how rough the car is idling in hondas.

When looking for this info for you I was sure that the injectors were interchangeable between cars...the rails just need to be modified but now I can't find out for sure so I can't say

about the plugs, do you use platinums or double platinums? just wondering. also what about bosch plugs? they any good?

so denso or autolite? personal preference maybe? i'll try one or the other. maybe try some others too. now about wiring? mangecor wires sound good but are they the same ones for the spi in the escorts? or does the focus spi use diff. plugs altogether? and ignition coils or whatever that thing is called where to get one?

you can use any coil that would work on a zetec. MSD, Scremin Demon, Accel. I don't know the secs well enough to tell you if one is better then the other, But all are better than stock. You can't go with any other wires but magnacor, but since you were thinking of those anyway it works perfect. Look at this site under magnacor
http://www.zx2ner.com/products/plugwires.htm

and it lists places you can buy them from. As for the plugs I just use platinum's. I hear bad things about the focus and bosch plugs. But I've never tried them myself so I can't say.
