MAFS is your Mass Air Flow, it could be dirty or the plug could be loose.  If it's high it sounds as though it's a problem with it being dirty.

The EGR flow fault might be the DPFE problem, since the DPFE and the EGR are pretty much one and the same device.  And the random misfire, check your coil, plugs, and wires.  That's probably where your problem is there.  But these still aren't the diagnostic codes that you'd get if you hooked up to an OBDII.

well i'll see if i can find one at walmart. they have some pretty good inexpensive tools. i have the torx bits but not the tamper proof ones or whatever cuz those screws have a little thing sticking out of em so the centre of the bit needs to be hollow. mine are solid. i'll see what i can find at napa or walmart hell maybe menards too. that is if u guys think my car is okay to drive w/ the MIL on.

I heard a Ford tech a while back say "All cars with a DPFE should come with a spare one in the glove box" :D:D

As for the safety torx bits walmat would be good buy you may get lucky in a discount bin in a parts store also. Just a thought.

Also... when cleaning MAFS be vewwy vewwy careful not to break any of the wires. Its about $125 to replace MAFS if not more.

As Dan mentioned - If you have any overstock type discount stores that buy out store liquidations etc. - those are excellent places to find inexpensive tools.

Also - Yep, I cleaned my MAFS and what a difference that made too!  Check your air filter and change that and yep, that DPFE is a POS.

if only they made a DPFE disabler or something. jeeeeez why do they have to put those pos's on cars.

oh yeah, i was lookin through my service manual and found that my car may be in "Limited Operation Strategy" mode which may have cause my engine light to go on and also the loss of power. and until the trouble code is erased my car will stay in LOS mode. haha "LOS" guess that explains the "loss" of power, lol

if anyone knows more about this let me know. i need to get alot done today. so keep on postin!

Ok, follow this link.  http://www.visi.com/~rhanson/obdII_codes-full-text.htm

In the first column you see the trouble code.  In the next column you see a description and the third column has some possible causes.

I would start with the possible causes and see if any match up.  Then I would go through all the stuff in the possible causes and inspect anything that you can without having to replace a bunch of stuff.  If that doesn't yeild any results, I have a service CD that has some instructions on what else to look into, that I can try to get you a copy of or print the stuff you need.  Just let me know when you try the other stuff first.

pretty much stock. the cat is on there, the only thing i did was remove this plastic thing that goes in front of the intake snorkle cuz theres a bump that blocks my cool air!
Anyways i fired it up about an hour ago and the MIL was off! i was like "what the hell?" so im drivin and then the freakin MIL come on again!
so heres my hypothesis, tell me if i'm right or waaaay off:
the engine misfire causes the fuel/air mix not to burn correctly, right? well if thats so, then that all goes thru the EGR and causes the MIL to come on. Am i right, or completely out of the picture? just a thought i guess.

you need to go have the actual OBDII code read.  The diagnostic code from the gauge cluster aren't telling you what you need to know.  And I suspect there may be an electrical issue if your CD player is doing goofy things.
