You gotta read the articles linked on this guys site. Its about his patented combustion chamber modification. He simply cuts grooves into the quench area of the chamber to direct the flow of gas right to the spark plug increasing the turbulance. He makes great claims to mileage increases. I'd try it but all my spare engines are 1280 miles away.
Man how I wish I had the time to do this. If I knew I could get my heads off and back on in time and cut the grooves correctly and deep enough Id be all over this. I have no problems with experimenting. Maybe the big makers will test it out eventually.
I posted a link a long time ago near when I first joined TF about a guy in europe than has built, tested and patened a rotory motor that develops 2500 hp around 3000 rpm and has nearly double the fuel economy of the most efficient gas motors of today. But he has ran into nothing but road blocks in finding someone to buy him out or develop the idea.
I wish I could find the link again and post it. It was quite interesting.

Im in the North Eastern part of Oklahoma. About 20 minutes south of the Kansas border. Its about 50 miles north of Tulsa. Bartlesville was at one point in time was a oil mecca of sorts with Conoco/Phillips. But they have all but died out.
I knock the place because there isnt a lot to do if you are someone that likes a variety of things to do but all in all it is a really great place. Its not large and its far from being small and crime is pretty much non-existant. The cost of living is like super low. My insurance went down nearly $100 by just moving here though I drive almost exactly twice as far to get to work now. In Tulsa I paid almost $450 for an apartment. I can rent a house in Bartlesville for that, I pay a little more than that and have a three bedroom house with a garage (wooot woot).
We have a super Wal-Mart, and just a few miles down the road they are building the absolutely largest warehouse I have ever seen for Wal-Mart, nearly all automated, state of the art. We have a Mall, albeit, not a huge one like you would find in places like Orlando and such, but its a mall nonetheless. Most everything you would need we have here, though there is not a big tuners crowd here, not a lot of party hang outs for those interested.
All in all its not a bad place. My favorite thing about living here is the absolutely wide open areas around here, PERFECT for storm chasing, and they have a lot of long, straight roads for opening up the Focus, and they have a lot of twisties for when you want to go that route. When I lived in Tulsa it was always a hassle to hook up the scan tool and do some testing because they had few places with good roads that were low traffic. There's plenty around here to go testing on. Though I do miss being so close to the drag strip from when I lived in Tulsa.
Anyway, thats Bartlesville at a glance. If they would bring a super Target, a few big book stores and a few other things like that here, it would be a super place to live.

It's almost impossible to drive fast here and there's cops everywhere. I also forgot how bad Tulsa drivers are till I moved back. They are the worst drivers I have ever seen in my entire life. ENTIRE LIFE!!!! And I've been EVERYWHERE!! These people NEVER drive the same speed! Fast, slow, fast, slow, slower, fast, faster than hell, then slow again. It's like they're cruising down the road at their own speed and when you pass them for going 10 under, they all of a sudden get a great interest in ford focuses as if there aren't enough of them in Tulsa. So they see you pass them and they want to drive right behind you, then next to you, then behind you again, then pass you, then slow way the hell down again. I was thinking for a while that people just are really interested in FL license plates or something. "Wot thu haaelll, that theare boy from Flowrida can't paasss me!". I live right south of 31st between sheridan and yale. It ain't bad. Everything is right here. We got a duplex for $500 and the other side is future family. We got a fenced in yard too. A carport but no garage. I wish. Oh, well. It ain't forever. I like it here. It's dry, no hurricanes, not a billion degrees and nice parks. I've been doing the 3 miles around LaFortune on Yale between 51st and 61st. I'm sure everyone cares and junk, but a... I got nothing better to do.
Well Captain J, you never told me. We got something in common. Florida natives that live in Tulsa, well, except now I live in Bartlesville. Thats too funny. We need to hook up and go chase some tornadoes in the Focus.
If you are going to be at the state fair in the Expo Center look for the Amsoil booth, Im going to be in there with some other dealers. I dont know what times or what days for that matter. Im off on Thurs. and Fri. so I will be around those days I just dont know what times.
We'll have to hook up sometime. Im trying to build up the central plains region so we can take over and push out TFNE.

Oh, by the way Captain J. I was talking to some of the dirt track racers about the article you posted. They all kind of laughed at me (in a good way) and were quick to tell me that this has been done for the better part of 20 years, just in a different way.
The racers here call it golf ballin'. The Amsoil dealer I spoke with who also races on the dirt tracks gave me the complete run down on how to do it and that it would only take a couple of hours to get it done minus the time to get the heads off and that it could all be done with the motor in the car.
If I can get my confidence up about taking out the cams, I'll be all over this soon and will see how it works out. I just gotta figure out how and get the confidence up about locking in and then pulling out the cams again so I dont have to degree them.

Anyway, I forgot to mention, on display in our Amsoil booth is a race car for a new class of vehicles called the Ford Focus midget. It is basically a small racer wrapped around a Zetec 2.0L motor. Im going to get some pictures of it and I'll post them up when I get a chance. It is very cool.
Okay, I think Im done. Ive been up a long time setting up the Amsoil boot and then driving all the way back to Bartlesville, so Im a little tired, so its time to get some rest.

I'd love to chase some tornados! That'd be awesome. So how do you do it. Wait near a trailer park when its stormy? I might just have to go to the fair to check out that little racecar. I heard parking's not too fun for that.

Bud, parking is one pain in the neck. There is usually a lot of traffic out there. But I guess any event that size is going to have those types of issues. Though with the millions of dollars they just spent redoing the place you would think that parking and exits would have been a top priority, but that does not seem to have been the case.
As for the twisters. Well I actually chase more lightning that I do anything else. I focus more on that than I do tornadoes anyway, not that I would pass up a chance to hang around one if it was on the ground.
I generally just gather as much weather info as I can to make a decision as to where Im going to start from. From there I just use my laptop, wireless internet and GPS to stay with the storms. 90% of the time I end up chasing storms after they have already formed and are moving so at that point the big thing is to stay informed as to how the storm is moving and at night if there are any twisties on the ground cause you likely are not going to see them and so want to either avoid the area or be seriously over cautious. Back during the huge outbreak in 1999 that hit Oklahoma City I nearly got smashed by an F3 twister because of stupidity and not using common sense chasing a major storm like that at night.
Oh, and you can always just sit out along I-44. It seems every major storm that hits this area follows almost exactly the I-44 corridor. Thinks Im kidding? Check it out next time.
If Rick doesnt get mad for me posting the link, you can check out my website:
Well Captain J, we need to hook up sometime. Thanks for the comments on the pics. I love being able to chase the storms and get those pics. Though this year has been dismal.
I wont be at the state fair today, but I should be there after work just about every night after today except on Sunday and Wednsday when I'll be at church instead. Barring any other events I should be there every evening for a few hours anyway, I doubt very late since Im going to be juggling that and work and the drive back and forth. Maybe you can swing by and see if Im there and we can yack a while. Just ask the guys in the booth for the SyntheticShield guy and they'll either point me out or tell you I aint there. If I am there you will probably see my laptop on the table somewhere.
At any rate, swing by if you can, if not, maybe we can hook up and I can invite you to come up for some BBQ before it gets too chilly, and introduce you to Kings BBQ sauce,
