I just got my Crower Stage II cams at the house. Unfortunately for me I won't be able to install them cause Im still in this fucking desert! :? But I was wondering if any of you have them installed. I want to know more about the installation process and what gains you have seen from them. I think its a good thing my brother is probably going to install mine. He is currently enrolled at NASCAR Tech and is going to use my car as kind of a project car to get some hands on. He as also found a dyno for about $30 a run to tune the cams with my FC adjustable cam gears. Im hoping to get what the Focus Fanatic pulled out of theirs. Somewhere around 30-40 Hp at the wheels! :gofastAfter I get my 4-2-1 race header installed I will only have the interior to worry abou then! But if there is anybody out there with useable info, i.e. first hand knowlegde of the installation/performance gains, I want to know!  Thanks!

i have the Comp cams stage II installed in my car....i currently run a mac performance shorty header with fc high flow cat and a magnaflow cat back exhaust......i love this setup and the sound isnt too unreasonable...the 4-2-1 will be screaming loud.....i had the shorty with orp and it was screamin loud....as one person here put it..."its stupid loud".....i would see about installing an after market cat to remain legal or see about the svt header/cat setup.....just my suggestion.....

Yes.. I have the a custom cat back already installed it sounds good with a big Ass Borla muffler I got from a Mustang Cobra! I have considered going with the Shorty headers. The stock cat is already pretty high flow as stated by Focus Fanatic Mag and according to Dyno runs no signifigant increases in HP or Torque were yielded by the installation of a high-flo cat! The biggest draw back to the Zetec is the scavenging for exhaust gases of the Stock headers.  My only concern of the shorty headers is that it would not be as effective as just going to race headers! This car is going to be maily used for road course racing only anyway!

installation is not bad. just be sure to hold the cam gears with a wrench while you take out the center bolt. do not use the cam bar or you will break the shaft. also, check to make sure the crowers are not the old 413s. they dont fit in most NA foci. measure the lash carefully and follow the camshaft bearing cap reinstallation steps exactly. not doing that properly has caused the shafts to snap on more than one car.

Update.

I've had my 4-2-1 race header in for a year and I love the thing. The cams are great I love them, running 0 on intake and -1 on the exhaust side. You can feel the huge difference at 3000 RPMs to 7000. (I had to get a Superchip to increase the REV limiter) This car flies. I've had this ZX3 (NOT SVT) up to 134 mph on a little stretch of interstate in GA. Its fun to drive and I've had a lot of compliments on the sound of my car!
