here are some pics of the motor swap in progress and evidance of the dangers of hydrolock. if you have a CAI and no bypass valve, get one now or take it off.
notice the rust on the intake cam lobes and the foamy oil.
TXFO, in the picture where you have the motor lifted out, there is a 'part' that is directly below the exhaust ports and it has a tube that appears to connect to the block. What is that thing? I noticed that when I installed my header and couldn't make heads or tails of it.

It whines a lot, but I like it

that is the oil seperator. the hose conected to it is the PCV.
haha, that's awesome. I laugh every time I read a thread about hydrolocking on the jet, the general "group opinion" now is that it doesn't happen. I've done it, I've seen it happen. It can and will KILL engines. cai=junk imo. Short ram is in about 10 degrees warmer air at a standstill and same temp while moving. I've had 3 cai's and 3 short rams. I won't run cai's anymore.
Good work, looks like you got plenty of fociblood on ya, that's the way to make a good kill.
thats the number 2 connecting rod sticking thru the windage tray (lower crankcase housing). I'll get a better pic when we disassemble everything but you can actually see that it not only snapped, it twisted too.
If I did an engine swap or had to change out an engine it wouldn't be in my focus. Gimme a Big Block Chevy with a yerning for the track and I'll play hard.

stop lying, everyone knows that girls can't work on cars.
holy crap you got it to go in the top? haha. We've fought that technique enough times to know it's worth dropping the k-member. lookin good, keep up the good work
lmao yeah that's what i'm talking about. We did it with the trans still mounted and both axles in too. Never again. <bonks head on desk> This time I have a cupkit and custom sways goin in anyways, plus i gotta change axles and tear into the trans, may as well do it from the bottom and save the headaches. Haha, we actually broke a 4k lb chain while hoisting it out and managed to drop the engine on the waterpump shaft and alternator pulley. thank god she's gettin all new parts. I love pix of other ppl working as hard as we do, makes me feel like i'm not alone.
