I'm not sure, but mechanical lock-up probably only happens in 4th gear. They design it that way as a fuel saving measure, when you're cruising, not accelerating.

I've notice that the atx gets a good take-off, but after 3,500 RPMs it loses force. Sometimes when accel to pass it struggles to take-off, I pass many semi's due to debris that falls from their load.

Umm, I'm ok with my lil 4. Saves gas and the wallet can't even take to get an exhaust for my Foci.
