got my new, used zetec main harness last week. what a freaking mess! that thing is HUGE. got all the lights on it, the sensor harness blocks, firewall connectors, a bunch of other conenctors I cant identify, the battery and alt. wires.......... and a freaking fusebox. lol. anyone need a spare fusebox or brake resevoir?

sad part is, Ive decided to only use a few things from the loom. its too much trouble to try and rewire the entire car. ;lube

Im gonna use the battery cables because the alt wire is different, and then just cut off the crank angle sensor and run wire straight to the ECU. also have to do something with the CHTS. There probablly arent any pins for it in the SPI sensor block connector. so I guess I will also run that seperately thru the firewall to the ECU. thank god I have schematics for the EEC-V. sometimes working here has its benefits.;devil

dude, I was totally gonna rewire the car. I was gonna put in that entire main harness untill I actually got the son of a bitch and saw how fuckin HUGE it was!

;owned

I felt very humbled when I could only identify like 1/3 of the connectors. Then I got to thinking about it and I only really need the +batt  -> starter -> alternator cable, and the crank angle connector. no sense in rewiring the lights and shit just for that.

sonofabitch. I just discovered that the zetec injector harness connects to the main via a single block connector, HOWEVER the SPI connects via a 2 block connector. so now I guess Im going to have to cut up the SPI injector harness and wire the zetec sensor connectors to it so I can use the spi main.

I understand why things are different, the spi is old and the zetec is newer so certain concessions had to be made. But how in the hell did they get the wire colors to be congruent between the two and still have so much wiring different!?

next stop, AC compressor. I thought they were the same but now Im not so sure. preliminary findings indicate that there are holes in the compressor that allow it to be connected in two manners. I hope thats right, I need to crawl under a zetec and look at it the compressor again. Ive already forgotten exactlyhow it looks.

PS pump looks bad too. the high pressure line is going to be tricky.

Fuel line is a problem too. snap connector is different and angles. probablly buy a new line.
