OK...my car has been stuttering and almost stalling (actually stalled on me a few times) at lights now for a few months. No codes, and I changed out the plugs and wires about two weeks ago with Steeda low resistance wires and Autolite Double Plats, and that solved the minor little shakes and stutters that the car goes through, but now when it does this, it's really severe, and comes close to stalling. I've read and heard from some people that the PCV could be a major cause, and I've heard that it's in two locations on the Focus...under the exhaust manifold, or by the coil pack. Can anybody shed any light on this? This is really getting annoying...

BTW-In addition to the plugs and wires, I gave the MAF a real good cleaning for the first time a few months back, so I think that I can rule it out.

The PCV valve is just to the right of the header, right by and maybe a little down below the thermostat housing.  If you have the stock header you may not see it too well and it may be a bit of a hassle to get to.

If you have never changed it before, Id say go get you some new rubber tubing that has a 90 degree bend in it and replace it.  Mine was so brittle there was no hope of saving it (the tubing).  And just because the PCV 'rattles' doesnt mean its good, so replace it if you go through all the trouble of getting at it.

Another thing. If after you change the PCV you still have the problem change the coil pack. I was just having problems with stuttering a week after changing the PCV and I changed the plugs and that fixed it somewhat. I changed the Coil Pack and its all gone now. MY car has 84500 on it

Thanks for the comments!

FX3-did you just change it with a stock Motorcraft coil? How much was it if you did? I just got those new Steeda plug wires, so I really don't want to get a Screamin Demon since I would have to get new wires once again. I'll definetley try to coil if the PCV doesn't fix it. Thanks again!
