OK, so I know that some (or most) of you know that my engine blew back i n August. Well, every since then i have been trying to get the bastard right. Its in the shop AGAIN because of an oil leak. They dont seem to care that it leaks, we take it in and they think we shouldnt bitch bc its under warruntee. They dont seem to get the fact ath soon, it wont be.... SO... we are gonna try to fight for a new engine.

Here is what i need if anyone can help me

I know that a few of you have had the same engine blowing thing happen to them, or know people who have had thier engines blown out. IF you could share with me when it happened and the milage on the car when it happend it would be greatly appriciated.... and it will help me fight with Ford so maybe something will be done about this damn problem that they seem to be ignoring at the moment

thanks guys!!

I think the recent engine failures were due to water being sucked up through the intake.

Mikey's went at about 83K. Didn't suck up water but did have a water related mishap a few months before. I also beleve the Maine incident was water in the intake and I beleve the motor TXFO replaced was water through the intake as well.

Don't know if that helps. The soney is about to roll 85K if that doen't help you out.:D

If you bring up a problem with the car and the dealer doesn't fix before the warrenty runs out the dealer is still responsable for the problem and SHOULD fix it.  My brother-in-law had a problem with his tranny and the Ford dealer kept blowing him off until his warrenty ran out, then tried to charge him to fix it.  After alot of fighting the dealership fixed it for free.

Pokes, honey - Call Dan @ Starkey Ford in York - Give him the history and see what he can do to help you.

Ph# 877.395.3673 - Ask specifically for Dan in Service and tell him I sent you.

This whole thing is BULL and he'll treat you right.  He'll be honest and explain his limitations etc.

Go in there with an effin hammer, smack the engine, and say "There, it leaks! Replace it!"

From what ive heard, i would follow Chelly's suggestion and call her contact. Seem to treat people right and not talk with his head up his butt. Those idiots you are dealing with over at McFarland don't seem to know thier @$$ from thier elbow!

where is the oil? is it all down the front or back of the block? on the valve cover? all over the hood? pooling on the driveway near the driver's side or the passenger?

have you checked your breather and PCV hoses for cracks? is the dipstick frequently unseated?

Leak is apparetly out the top back of the engine.
no pooling or anything.. is just enough to make a stink really, thats how i know its there.
Dip stick is always right were it should be... atleast after they replaced it since they kept the one from the blown engine on there for a while... dumb fooks
I have yet to really check anything... but once i get him back.. im all over it. Im gonna find the damn leak and show these bastids up

I think Dan is getting a call on Monday

5pm last night i pick up my car.... it has no gas in it (apparently it costs me a tank of gas for them to not find a leak).
I drive from Exeter to my place in Portsmouth (10 miles) My house to B&N (5 Miles) B&N to the Liquor Store (2 Miles). Leave the liquor store and the check engine light is on (yup, not happy with that one). Drive the 3 miles home, get out.... there is a plume of fresh oil STINK coming from under the car.
Called today... they said they would look at in on Monday but they dont know what we mean (the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON... its not too hard)

So, they cant find a leak, but i can within 17 miles of getting the car back. Its rediculous now.
