last week my check engine light came on had it tested yesterday the tester reads insufficent air . i was told to the egr valve took it off and sprayed with carb cleaner but all in all it did not look dirty. would this be stemming from removing the air resinator possibly. any comments will be much appreciated thanks
removing the resonator wouldn't cause a problem, unless the air filter was so clogged up that the car couldn't breath, and I find that hard to imagine.
I second Chelly's recommendations. I would start with the air filter and make sure all is good and clean there. If it was good then Id clean out the MAF. I dont know why they would suspect the EGR on insufficient air, its a recirculation system. Let us know how things turn out and what you find.

It whines a lot, but I like it
As for the resinator box, it's not causing the CEL. I have personaly taken it off of 3 cars and none had a CEL light come on due to that. 2 cars went about 40K so far and 1 about 20-25K. And the SVT comes without a resinator box if that helps.
do waht Chelly said and also make sure all the air ducting is connected tightly nad while you are checking the filter make sure there is nothing in the bottom of the air box and thet the lower inlet is free of any debris.
thanks the light has not come back on yet i know it takes a while but when the dude told me to clean egr valve i did but it sure did not look dirty must have helped though
mafs i know i know what it is but not all auto machanic yet catch on quick though i just cant think of it at the moment. taking the egr valve off was easy for never have doin so but can u give a little more detail though please ..
