HELP! When I bought my Focus, it had no keys. So I got a service key cut (with no PATS chip). I have no way to get the car to the nearest dealership (50 miles away) and they won't come to me to program a PATS key.

Is there any way to disable or bypass the PATS system, even temporarily, so I can get it to the dealership (once it's ready)?

as far as I know there is no way to disable the PATS, otherwise the Focus would get jacked more than Jill on her way down to fetch a pail.

If you have Road Side Assitance w/ either Ford or on your own, I would have it towed to the Ford Dealership.

sheeeeeeeet doggie the module is attached to the ignition YOU might be able to rig something to bypass it.  the module we use to bypass it for remote start requires the chip in the key.   so hmmmmmdwhat year is your car?  i can tell you how to hot wire it LMAO

Call some locksmiths. I know there is a mobile locksmith here in Manchester and he has the tool to program new keys. Maybe there is someone in your area that does the same thing. Also with a locksmith you might be able to make an appointment if you tell him whats going on.

oh yeah, you arent gonna bypass the pats. It is possible and there are modules you can buy that will do it but it isnt worth the money. The PATS is not a frequency, its an authentication code with a parent/sibling indicator for the keys. Each key transmits a code with its key number (key A, B, C) to the module in the column. the PATS module then sends the ok to the ECU. this "ok" is nothing simple like a high or low signal. its basically repeating the code to the ECU. its a digital conversaiton that would look like a series of 5v spikes. unless you could moniter the "conversation" and repeat it, you wont be able to bypass.
