hi there and thank u for ur time. my problem is the check engine light it comes on and

hooked the obd 2 to it . it reads trouble code p0401 which is EGR insufficient flow

dectected. ok so any one know how to fix this. its a 2001 sedan model. thanks for ur help:caution

Just a note, I'm not certain if you have any warranty left on this vehicle or not, but it doesn't hurt to check with a dealer.

There is a standing TSB out on the DPFE sensor and they disapointingly go bad very easily.

Ongoing joke: Ford should sell ALL of their vehicles with a spare DPFE in the glovebox.

They aren't very inexpensive, so I would, as I mentioned, contact a dealer to see if you still qualify for replacement under the TSB.

Check with dealer as it may have an extended warranty on that part.

They are about $70. It may be located on the firewall to the left of the fuse box. Or in that general area.
