ummm, ok... decided it was time to change them. so threw some double plats in...
really can tell a major difference in power and such.
thinking maybe 55k was a little long on the originals....
ooohhh, and my milage really increased too...
I've heard changing the plugs in a Focus can be tricky from time to time. I've had others locally complain about the car not accepting the Platinums for whatever reason.

Don't worry guys. I already slapped her and told her she was 1/2 right..
And I changed the stock plugs on the Sony at 75K. The plugs are rated for 100K but I wouldn't run them that long because they can stick good into the head by 100K (cerosion/rust weld in).
only thing we can figure was that they had a hotspot somewhere on the plug and caused some detonation causing the ceramic to break apart.
they ran fine for a couple thousand then that was it. began running like ass and when they were pulled the ceramic around the center electrode was trashed on 2 of them.
the engine was scoped for damage and none was found thank god.
of course ngk swore it was piston contact and therefore not there fault...so after arguing with them for awhile about getting the plugs refunded and the scope paid for to no avail, i went back to motorcraft plugs an unhappy camper and will never buy ngk products again.
