can anybody tell me if it is possible to use a lower temp. thermostat to boost hp. without any engine damage or other, i'm wanting to run 8.5 mil. wires, coil, and plugs. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That won't boost HP. Personally, I don't recommend it. The temp is set for optimal performance. Changing the temp might confuse the computer into leaving the choke partially on, change the fuel mixture, throw a code, change timimg, or other problems. I say, if you need a new thermostat, get the same temp. Changing it won't do a bit of good, and is potentially harmful.

It just one of those old wives tales / urban legends that if the engine runs cooler, it's better for it. Not true.

You're welcome.

That was a good ;question.

The only dumb questions are those we think of, but never ask.
