3 days of -26 to -12 with really nasty winds. Mostly city driving. AC on with full heat and recirculate. 19.3 miles per US gallon. Does not surprise me that the fuel consumption is high but the extent to which cold weather, stop and go, numerous start cycles have on fuel burn was more than expected. Just an added expense to Christmas shopping. :-)

I hope mine doesn't hit that level. I don't think I ever did that poorly w/ my Zetec ever either. Had some monster cold to deal with sometimes, but she was off the road for 2 out of the 4 winters she saw.

Got a chance to go for a drive on clear highway just now. The fuel flow might suck but I'll tell you that the additional power available at these temperatures sure can be fun. I'm over 4,000 feet above sea level so normally I'm down on power compared to what most of you are used to.:-)

That hugs a root to say the least. But hey, its been barely double digits here in the morning the last few days or so and barely out of freezing in the afternoons, maybe a little higher and Im still getting like 24mpg. But Ive had some fun with the cooler air getting on to the highways and just flooring it. That S/C suuuuure loves that cold air.
