Anyone had problems with their A/C before? My fans won't work from 1 to 3 and at 4 the fan will run, but it turns off the A/C. Any idea?

Umm compressor goes on in 1 to 3, cuts off on 4 and fan runs. I don't believe the knobs have to do with this, but I'll check.

its the resistor pack if the fan runs on 4.

heres a how to from another forum.

It's easier than it looks on paper. I removed and replaced it in <5 minutes. My resistor pack is bright Ford blue.

You will need:
A. The new
resistor
pack.
B. An 8mm socket and suitable handle (one of those flexible ones did the trick).
C. A flashlight.
D. Opposable thumbs (should be standard issue on the higher primates).

Step by step:
1. Open the glovebox, and empty it.
2. Squeeze the sides of the glovebox and drop it down.
3. Squeeze the tab on the connector to the
resistor
pack (hidden in the pic below, it's on the left).
4. Remove the 8mm hex-head screw holding the
resistor
pack. Once loosened, it can be unscrewed by hand (don't drop the screw!).
5. Lift the
resistor
pack from the bottom, it swings up and out.

Installation is the reverse of removal. Don't overtighten that screw!
Let us know if this fixes your Focus!

not hard to do at all, about 15 min of work. parts not expensive either.

reason it works on 4 is the voltage doesnt go through the resistor pack, its used for the slower fan speeds. 4 takes a direct 12v

I see, thanks for the help. I can't go without A/C, it's Florida. Too bad I have to wait for Monday morning to order the part, pretty sure I have to wait until Tuesday for the part to get through.
