I am almost certain that it is the water pump that has gone out, as when I woke up a few mornings ago I found a huge puddle of antifreeze all over the driveway. I had my brother look at it to see what he thought, and he couldn't find the leak. I got my hands in there and started feeling around for the leak, and felt the antifreeze drip onto my hand, then followed it and found it. Now, is this the water pump? It may just be a worn gasket, but we will just replace the whole thing so I dont have to worry about it again for a while.
Alright thanks. Yeah after I posted that I started looking for replacement pumps, and saw that they looked Nothing like that, so I got a Chilton repair book and have been reading up on that.
That is most definately the thermostat housing. Two things can go wrong there that I have observed.
1. The thermostat gasket can leak and since its also the gasket that seals the housing, well, you can see the issue. I tried flushing my Focus once and I took out the thermostat and by default, the gasket and started it all up only to realize the coolant was draining out the housing.
2. Its plastic. The bolts are metal. Course threat albeit, but you can tighten them too much and then it leaks. I had this problem personally is why I know about it. Fortunately I had a spare at the time and all was good. I think there are four bolts that hold it to the block and if I remember correctly there are three hoses hooked up to the housing including the main radiator hose.

It whines a lot, but I like it
remove the housing and inpect it. also take this time to test your thermostat incase it needs replacement. If the housing is good, get a new gasket for it. Clean the head mating surface with scotchbrite, and reinstall the thermostat and housing.
