Ok, so I'm getting ready to drain the gear lube, and I can see the two plugs one faces the passenger side parallel with the transaxle and the other is facing the front of the car, perpendicular to the transaxle, which one is which? Any one?

OOOPS. Sorry bout that.
Easy to do. There are 2 plugs. One on the bottom for drain. It's difficult to see if it's dirty down there. Just take that one out and let it drain out completely. I did mine a while ago but it was still dripping out after 10 minutes.
In hindsight I would have driven the car a bit first to warm it up some.
The one facing the front of the car is the filler. You'll need a funnel and a piece of hose. Just fill to the bottom of the hole.
I switched to Mobil 1 and have been happy with it.
I think Chelly and Rick are using Amsoil and might be able to shed some light on their results.

I've got Amsoil, but I didn't see a hole on the bottom of the transaxle, just one facing the passenger side front tire and another a bit lower facing the front.  Hence my curiousity.

It's hard to see. It's surrounded by some raised "fins".
You have to be looking straight at it to see it.

Just remembered something else. Pressure wash before you do this. I didn't and when I was feeding the hose down to do the fill, the hose was picking up some crud which would have gone in to the tranny if I hadn't noticed.
