I have raced a few times and I find myself beating on the other car untill we git to 110mph and then it cuts back to 105 and it keeps doing it everytime I get to 110. PLEASE HELP!!!!  Is it somthing that can be done by cutting some wires or do I need a certain type of performance chip??

1st off Welcome.......

The speed limiter is on the car because the stock tires are not rated for over 110mph (as well as some other parts). And personaly I would run the stock tires that high. Somthing about the quality of the lowest bidder....

But in order to get rid of the speed limiter you will need a performance chip to do so. Not one of the $30 ebay specials also. I would get a CTS Chip(FocusSport.com) or a Diablo Chip.

N00BIE!

;wel

exactly what fx3 said, but i'll attempt to politely correct him.

'i would NOT run the stock tires higher than the limiter' due to the fact they are no longer safe at those speeds.

chip it

Have fun and be safe! Keep it on the tracks:driv

Why do you need to go faster than the speed governor allows?  Unless you are racing your car on a high-speed track, there is no good reason to go that fast.  Besides which, you go that fast on the highway and get caught, they will impound your car and you can spend some time getting cozy with Bubba behind some stout bars.  Worse yet, that is an excellent way to get yourself (or worse yet, someone else) killed or seriously hurt.

Yes, you can chip your car and remove the governor.  Or you can buy a handheld programmer and have more customization options.  But excessive speed is one of the prime causes of accidents, and the faster you go, the more likely there is to be serious injuries, or fatalities.

I'm done pontificating, now.  Sorry I went off like that.

Ummm.......

I was passanger of a Neon that was pulled over doing 111.

A little fast talking and got a ticket for 80 in a 65...

First words out of the officers mouth "I didn't know these things could go that fast"
