I have 1.6 L Ford Focus hatch back. Model 2005. The problem is when i press the switch from the driver side to move up and down, the rear right side window glass it’s not moving. However there is a sound of click coming from the door panel.
Any DIY available as how to open the door panel and then repair it afterwards.
Thanking in advance

I'm just guessing, but most of the door panels slide in from the top. There are usually a couple of small channels on ea. side to guide installation, and the bottom of the panel will be tucked into something, so it won't flop around. The way to uninstall it will probably be the opposite. Get ahold of it near the top and pull/push upward. It's likely going to take some muscle. If it comes loose, keep pulling it straight up, while you're looking to see how it's guided or being held in.
Like I said...I'm just guessing. Hope this helps.

I am new to this site but luck would have it that I have been woking with automotive glass for the last 15 years. The fist step is to locate the problem, does the window work from the switch on the rear door? if so the problem is either in the master switch (on the drivers door) or you have a wiring problem. If it doesn't work from the either switches then the motor is probably bad, if you can here the motor running when you push the switch and here a crackling and/or grinding popping noise then the regulator is shot and will need to be replaced. it is not just fords but all the newer cars have gone to cable actuated regulators and they were designed to fail. if this is the case then to remove the panel simply remove all the screws from the door panel ie sides and face plus the handle itself should split open, revealing one or two screws inside it, then there will be push in plugs attached to the back side of the panels requiring a panel tool to remove with out breaking them. once you have the panel off then get a good 12 car battery and jump the motor to verify that it is indeed the motor that is bad.
Pressing the window switch from the driver door and the passenger side i can hear the motor sound. Today gathered up all my courage and opened the defective door panel. Well the previous owner had jammed the door glass with a wire so that the glass should not fall down. It appears the same wire which runs in the regulator is tied up with the door frame so that the glass at least should not move or break. The motor as stated above sounds well. I think i need to change the regulator. Will go to the junk yard. Lets see if i can get one.
Will definitely need your help as how to first of all take the old regulator out from the door and once i learn it then i am sure it will be easy to put back the new one.
Thanking for your inputs. Wish someone has the DIY for the concerned job>>>
I wouldn't get one from a junk yard (if it were me) you will just be replacing it again soon. all the cable actuated regulators have these same problems, it's not a matter of if but when are going to fail and not just for all makes and models late model and new. I work for a company (full time) where we install auto glass, also a body shop and buy wrecked cars from the insurance autions and repair them to resell. in my opinion - to date the highest maintainence , poorest built car out there is the alero. how to remove the regulator - you will need some masking tape to hold the window up while you remove the plug that attaches it to the regulator. attach the tape to the inside of the glass and over the top of the door and down the other side to the glass in atlest two places. next you will notice that there is a slotted hole in the middle of the regulator, if you lower the window down untill you see a tan colored piece of plastic (round) then tape off the window to hold it there. next you will need to remove the plastic completely from the door and the piece of foam in the lower corner of the door. next reach to the inside of the door on the back side of the glass and push the core of the plug out towards you, very very carefully don't push to hard you can brake the window (mark the end of the plug that faces you it will need to be reinstalled in the same direction but from the inside out just like you pushed it out.)once you have got it out the outer part of the plug will come out easy, then slide the window back up (all the way) and unbolt and remove the regulator. the regulator only comes out one way, you should not have to force it but might have to turn and flip it to get it out the biggest opening. before you reinstall the regulator smear some bearing grease on the cables. let me know if you have any other questions I can pm you my #.
Thank you so much for your wonderful step by step information. This job i will carry out by the coming weekend. I will definitely bother you again if the need arises.
