Hi Guys

I have Focus 1.6L model 2005 hatchback. The problem is that most probably the AC water is coming in the cabin on passenger side. Because of this water the carpet is getting wet.

I have tried to give pressurized air in the pipe which drops the AC water on the ground, thinking that it might not be clogged. While switching on the AC I don’t see the water droplets coming on the road. This makes me think that the AC pipe is blocked.

The coolant level is not going down at all..

I shall be grateful if someone can guide me as how to get rid of this problem. Any DIY on this problem?

2 things I can think of and you have thought of 1 of them. THe AC drain. You correct in what I have heard about putting compressed air through it from the bottom (if your using canned air try some air crom a decent sized air compressor).  Had this problem with car under warranty. I actually had to tell them(Ford dealer) the 3rd time the car went back about the AC drain and no more water on pass floor now.

Another possibility is the cowel seal (plastic unter the windshield) is not seated/sealed correctly.

Thanks for your reply. May i know what exactly do you mean by, "the cowel seal (plastic under the windshield) is not seated/sealed correctly". Is it the plastic cover just under the windshield? Do i have to open it first?

Any info with pics will be highly appreciated, or atleast step wise info will also do

Thanking you once again

Interesting how this possibly similar issue has cropped up in the 2k5 model.

You will see on your windshield you have usually a metal cowl on the drivers side and then a plastic/rubberish cowl on the passenger side on the outside of the windshield directly at the bottom.  It has little divots like a golf ball on it and should be sealed down to the windshield on the top w/ the windshield sealant (black). It also snaps into place on the lower part of it and the snaps can easily break!  BE careful if you're going to go under that to look at it for possible leaks.

What i recommend to you is check out our recall and tsb forum & check your car for possible TSBs on this or even recalls.

I know 200-2k2 models had a TSB for just this same reason.

Best of luck to you!

Thank you so much for your help. Let me check around as per your instructions along with the TSB's. Will revert back what ever my findings are.

Regards
