i went through you recommendations and I see a lot of good points. But I am still undecided as to which one, after thinking I will not be dragging a lot, the turbo i found is cheaper then supercharger. My main question that I may have over read is there any major advantage one way or the other.

Well the supercharger has limits, which a lower than the turbo.

If you plan on going for MAX power... a turbo will end up the best bet, as it is a lot easier to add more boost with a turbo (assuming the engine can take it and the turbo is sized for it). It just requires adjusting the boost controller. Adding more boost with a supercharger requires changing the pulley(s).

However if you're just looking to add a little more RELIABLE power, a supercharger is definately the way to go! I stick by the PowerWorks as being a better supercharger than the Jackson Racing one, as it is capable of flowing a lot more, making more power.

well the supercharger i found is almost twice as much as the turbo kit i found. the turbo kit has twice as many parts as far as i can see. but the good thing is focus is not my everyday driver so it does not have to deal with the all the time driving

A cheap turbo kit is not likely a good turbo kit.

I agree, I am not going with the cheapest one, but i have found that the one that is in the middle cost range is usually the best for the buck, but dont know if that is true here. the kit is just over 1000 after shipping

May I ask where you found it? That seems "extra cheap". What all does it include?

that turbo is a nightmare, and that supercharger is the JR big boost.

You want to go here...

http://www.focussport.com

and get either this...

http://www.focussport.com/supercharger.htm (the top one, not sure who still carries the standard 2.0L 16V Powerworks kit.

-OR-

Find a reputable turbo kit for that model year (there aren't many places still selling them). The BIGGEST piece is to have the right tuning with the turbo's as most of these half baked turbo kits come with no tuning and will waste no time in nuking your block.

I did a search and found:

http://www.superchargersonline.com/product_detail.asp?PartNumber=PW-FOCUS-20

That was IT! I guess PowerWorks stopped making them for the regular Focus.

BUT DON'T FRET! I know there is a way to use the SVT one on the regular engine. For some reason I can't find the page on FJ with the how-to about how to switch to the SVT manifold on the regular Zetec engine.

Found it:

http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69441

You'll need all that except, of course, the manifold.
