I love knowing people who own the focus, and then upgrade thier focus and then sell your their old stuff for the cheap. :)  Before the end of August I should have on my pretty car... JBA Headers, 2 1/4" Bosal Flexpipe, and 2 1/4" SS MBRP exhaust.  Best part is the price... $100.  I'm not going to argue.

RPIJG,

You lucky dog! $100???

By the way, how is your MBRP system working out? Any comments/complaints about noise levels?

focaljet (sorry!) recently had a posting on an Exhaust Shoot-Out where they installed 11 different cat-back systems (including the MBRP) on a ZX3 and gave ratings, reviews and comments. They reported the MBRP had the highest noise level of all at 3k, which is the average driving RPM.

Any thoughts???

well I don't have it on there yet, hopefully next weekend.  Yeah $100 bucks.  As for noise though, I've heard it several times on the car it's on now, and I don't think it's really that loud.  Under load it is, so at 3K if you are under load that may be the loudest it gets, but from other reports I've heard, the Volant is actually louder :)

Also check out this thread on another site (I don't often do this, but the info on this particular topic was good).

http://www.focusworld.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1150&start=0

It's about the MBRP, on the second page someone rates it given different driving conditions on a scale from 1-10.  As I said, I don't think it's that loud, it sounds different (more of a rally sound than say, the low tone of the magnaflow) but not really that much louder.

Thanks for the reference, good info.

I think I'm convinced, need to check $s. Think the MBRP is $199 + $40 S&H.

That should wake your car up Joe.  Header and exhaust is are a great thing to do.  It should also sound real nice with your Volant intake.

congrats joe, but I can tell you, from hearing several of our local boys here having all this exhaust work done, they've definitely made their cars much louder.  I will cross my fingers that you can find a place in Maine that will inspect for you after this change.

You will obviously notice a difference, but you'll also notice the noise.

Dan (FX3) has the Bosal with silencer and no header work and I can honestly say I can hear his.

Mike (Gr33nlemon) has short headers, and the bosal and I'm sure other stuff that I can't think of right now and I can REALLY hear his car...Oh, btw - Dan and Mike both run with their silencer on.

Craig (Clapine01?) just had some exhaust (Help me out man!) Can't remember! and I'm not 100% on all his work, but I can most definitely hear him.

James, what did you put on?  Can hear you over Dan's exhaust on the Hwy.

just making note for you Joe...I still think it's super kool you're getting all that stuff for $100!!!  You'll have the intake too...do you have a 65mm TB yet?

Cograts Joe. Kick ass deal. I've heard it and its ok. I actually like a little more noise. I know there was some clips around, but most of em were SVT's and might not sound the same. I want to hear the Flowmaster, anyone know wheya i can hear that one?
