The focus, at stock hieght, sits way to high. One of the most popular modifications for the focus is lowering springs. I am going to list some popular brands of springs that are out on the market.

Eibach Pro kit 1.4"- 1.5"
Eibach Sportline 2.0"- 2.2"
H&R 1.5"
H&R 2.0"

Progress 1.8"
Apex 1.6"- 2.0"
Ford Racing by KW 1.6"

BAT sport 35mm 35mm
BAT sport 50mm 50mm
Hitec FK 35mm 40mm
Hitec FK 60mm 40mm

B&G springs- they have different kits that range from 1.5"-2.25"

Progressive rate springs are designed to become stiffer as they are compressed allowing a smooth transition between straight line comfort and high performance cornering.

Many of the cheaper springs available are not specially tested and trued by quality manufacturers. These springs sit lower than stock but do not have superior dampening ability and often provide a harsh ride. Some are also known to snap or sag. ESP the fake ebay springs.

Anything lower than a 2" or 50mm drop is going to need a camber kit. This will prevent premature tire wear.

Always get an alignment done after installing suspension parts.

**Its not required, but highly recommanded to get aftermarket dampners along with lowering springs.

Any qeustions please feel free to ask.

we could also probably add SVT set to that. Since I've seen it becoming more and more popular for those looking for mild drops with great increase in performance.

I'd like to drop mine, but I'm really afraid to. I had a 94 Mustang that I drag raced, and used as a daily driver as well. I put Eibach progressive springs on it & the ride went from "fair" to "horrible." It rode like a leather covered brick with wheels. On anything but glass smooth pavement, the thing would shake the fillings outta your teeth. It looked terrific, but holy cow!!!.

I'm afraid that if I do the same to the Focus, the result would be the same. I've driven lots of SVT's and they ride all right. I wouldn't want anything stiffer for a daily driver, tho.

I use the intrax 2.25" springs. Ride is stiff as a porn star on viagra, but the car handles like a go kart. You get used to the ride after a while. Plus the car has a killer stance IMO. Intrax also makes a 1.5 inch spring I believe, which the ride might not be so harsh with. Here's a pic of my car.

And here's a comparison pic of my car versus the wife's stock height zx3.

I agree it looks nice. My Mustang & other cars that I've owned also handled great, but I don't want that kind of ride.

I've got the BAT 35mm springs w/Spax adjustables.  I love the ride height and how it rides and the handling is great.

I bought some stiff springs for mine. 450lb-ers with a coil-over option included. Talk about ruff ride. But the car Corners extremly well and I feel like I have a good feel for the road now.  I had Progressive springs in there before and they ok, but I think my Eibach pro-dampers is what makes my suspension really stiff. Also the smaller the wheel you get the more you feel the the suspension and road. I went down to a 15" on a 45 series tire and that made a huge difference and lowered the car about an 1"

Well that would be a good way to do it. However, you are going to going to get a stiff ride with the Ebay springs.  I've been running them for a while they seem like good quality steel and they are so stiff I don't think would ever sag or break like some of the progressive springs. The only complaint I have bout the generic coil-overs is the rear springs can drop out if you jack the rear end up.  Im working on some kinda of a bind though maybe using a chain or steel cable to bind the lower A arm on the rear suspension to  keep that from happening. That what NASCAR does.

B&G springs (1.6") with eibach pro dampers..just like stock SVT ride, twice the handling and much improved looks. heres a preview, better pics to come some time soon..(on the stockers for now, should appear to be .5"-.75" lower with 45 series tires next month when the snows gone

im partial to eibach, but kyb's are nice.  definately go with the eibach spring or B&G setup and either the eibach pro dampers or the BAT-inc SPAX setup.  blurry will tell you about the spax, and as far as my personal B&G/eibach setup, rides better than stock ;)

i have a zx3 with some new rs 18x8; really nice. im going to roll out the fenders but im looking on how low i can drop it. im looking for a nice clean fender just clearing the tire. i was thinking of buying the svt suspension- m-3000-zx3 which has a .5 drop. i dont know if thats going to give the car a clean look. can i buy the svt kit and add some better spring? the svt kit has a sticker price of under 3 includes shocks springs and rear sway bar, to hard to turn down.
can anyone help my dilemma
zx3 with 18x8 with 215/35/8. need to know what can i do for upgrading my suspension. if i can use the svt kit great if not oh well.

You'll be lucky if at stock height you don't rub on something.  Even with rolling your fenders, you are going to have to roll a TON, and even then most likely the wheels are going to stick out past the fender clearance, so even with a mild drop you'll rub on that fender terribly.  Almost EVERYONE that runs the 18x8 RS wheels has the either the RS fenders or an aftermarket fender that is flared out for them, the standard focus body paneling just wasn't designed for that much wheel under it.  Good luck to you.
