My car's in the shop to get the rear seal replaced. It'll be there until late Wed. When they got it apart, they called & told me the clutch was pretty well fried. I'd like to get a Centerforce Clutch disc & pressure plate put in, but I don't know where to buy one. I have to have it here by Wed. AM.
Is $200 a decent price for this?
I need help fast.

Thanks guys. Actually, I had already called Ray when I 1st posted this. The car's at my dealer's service dept. they wanted $185 to install a stock clutch disc, pressure plate and turn the flywheel, all labor included. Ray wanted $220 + shipping for the cf clutch kit. It would have to be shipped overnight.
Later in the evening, I just happen to remember that Ford Racing carried the CF clutch. Nobody locally had it, so being kind oif resigned, I called my dealer. They had it in stock, for $185. Including all labor, they're installing it for $245.

By the way, I've raved about my dealer & the service dept. there. This is just another reason why. Who'd have ever thought that a dealership would be the least expensive place to have the work done?

just make sure they actually PUT IN the centerforce. Just did a job where we discovered the centerforce clutch was actually a motorcraft. talk about a ripoff.
Yeah, I remember reading that in another post somewhere. Actually, I took a look while it was apart. They were waiting on some gaskets & I stopped in. The CF stage II was in there.

Def. let us know how you like that clutch. I know it's not going to be the same but I'm thinking about installing a lightweight clutch in flywheel in my Miata to compliment the nitrous.
I haven't driven it much so far. Clutch effort seems the same, which, IMO is a good thing. Nice & light. The new clutch engages lots closer to the floor, and also seems to have less freeplay at the top. It's nice & smooth. The tranny seems to shift easier with it, but that may be because they changed the fluid.
Most Foci mtx come with ATF in the tranny, but mine did not. They replaced it with Ford MTX tranny lube.

yeah that's the stuff that they want like $15 a bottle for at the dealership, I've heard people say that they aren't sure exactly what it is, but that it's very very good.
and if you call a dealership they'll tell you the same thing. It's a mess. There isn't any definitive answer to what type of lube the MTX-75 uses. The only thing I know is that 75W-90 was too heavy for mine, and people have said great things about the stuff I listed above. I have Amsoil ATF in mine now, and it's pretty good. Though only marginally better than the original ATF I had in my car initially I think, and it wasn't that $15/bottle stuff.
What came out of my car was definitely NOT ATF, and they didn't put ATF in it either. They had to keep the car an extra day, because neither they, nor any other Ford dealer in the area had it. It's yellowish in color. Might be Ball Park Mustard for all I know. The tranny does shift like buttah, though. Even 1st thing in the morning when it's cold.

The stuff ford uses now is Ford Synthetic XT-M5-QS. They originally came with atf, but I think they changed it in the new ones. The new stuff is better, but way too much money imo. We use a cocktail of mobil 1 ATF and 2 oz of friction modifier, shifts "like buttah" in any weather conditions.
