Anyone used the batinc replacement ball joints? I want to get them to replace mine but Im not sure how hard it will be to drill out the rivets that hold the OEM ones on. Anyone done this?

Anyone here tried the FC control arms? Im considering my options and Im seeking out any experience with the FC arms. Ive heard bad things but maybe there are good reviews out there too.

Have not done it on my Focus yet. Mine are about due too. Drilling out rivets is not a big deal. Just be patient, it's easier than it looks.
Someone else has adjustable lower control arms that I was looking at. I haven't heard good or bad on the FC ones. What are you hearing?

heard some stories and seen some pics of FC arms gone to hell. Seems like the back of the arm is not braced well and the steel is less than adequate. Typical FC junk, but deadlier. Guess its down to deciding on new OEM arms or just the batinc replacement ball joints.

Someone else has them. I'm trying to remember but all that's coming up is that they are up in the northeast US and were doing some racing. Think it came up on MFF. I'll have to do a search there. I remember a comment that using them took you out of stock class, but nothing negative about the performance.
Maybe Esseff knows?

I'd like to hear or read more about reviews on any of the suspension products like this.
I know my car will be needing some upgraded suspension at some point and the more info I have as well as others, the better informed we will be on our purchase.

Also, info on the FC damage?  Avail. anywhere?

First of all FC is not junk.  They make alot of good products for the fofo, have some of the best headpackages and have one hell of a NA drag car.  Sometimes it is the fault of the installer not the product when it fails.

Back to your question, I know of several people on another site that use the FC control arms and love them.  I have heard of more people using the BAT inc. one though.

I don't like FC stuff. Zetec headers that crack, SPI headers with the wrong firing order, SPI ORPs that dont mate up to the exhaust manifold, Zetec throttlebodies that stick, and apparently control arms that snap. According tht people its happened too, the arm breaks at the back of the arm where the most stress is applied. there is not enough bracing and the tube itself breaks, not the welds.

Control arms are not something youw ant to break. The fact that at least 3 people I know of had the FC arms break is just too much. I think I will end up getting the replacement ball joint kit from batinc. Its a great buy because its cheap and it allows you replace just the joint. I think while Im at it Im going to get a prothane bushings kit and finish off whatever isnt already urathane.

TXFO please see my PM to you. :)

I have the Bat inc front ball joints in my car right now. I was installing my front urethane bushings and broke the boot on the ball joint.

First I removed the front controll arm. Than I ground down one side if the rivets and than drilled them out. I got stainless( I think) nuts lockwashers and bolts to hold everything in place. I have not had any problems.

I also did this because it was cheaper than buying a whole new arm.
