on the back there is a piece of the bumper that you can cut out to gain room. if you are rubbing on the sidewalls though, there is little you can do. that metal is hard to bend and I havent had any success with the bat method.
Try getting the right offset wheels! lol j/k man. Try rolling your fenders with a baseball bat while aplying heat to the paint so it doesn't crack. If they are rubbing on the inner fenders, maybe you can remove the plastic inner wheelwel on the front? Mine rubs with the stock wheels and tires, but I'm real low. My tires have actually rubbed and worn through some parts of the stock plastic inner fenders. I think they also sell a machine specially for rolling fenders, or maybe you can rent 'em. I've seen them in a VW magazine befors, cause those are notorious for needing fender rolling.

I got the right offset is just my drop but I dont wanna raise my car.........I love the drop that I got that's why I was wondering if I could sand the wheel well in order to fit the 17s
you could try, but you'll just end up with holes in it. Even on the other side of it though there usually isn't alot of space. The rear fender wells on a good number of Foci aren't even plastic, mine are felt.
Wow, you look lower than me! I've got a 2.25" drop and it's LOW! You could always put the 17's on and never turn the wheel, go over any bumps, or drive at all. If youre that low, then good luck. Maybe an airbag suspension is your anwswer in your case. Here's mine with the stock 15's and stock size tires on it.
And sorry, but I've always wanted to use this...

if you arent rubbing now, you can go to seventeens and a thinner tire and everything will be fine. If the overall diameter of the wheel and tire dosent change................... no rub!
I would say if you are rubbing with 17's the only real way to keep the drop without rubbing is to reduce the tire size. For example I run 215/45/17 on my 17's they don't rub, but right now I've got the stock suspension, I've only got about an inch or so, before I would rub in the corners. So if I wanted to go lower than say an inch and a half, I'd have to probably get A) a smaller tire say a 215/40 or 205/45, or even smaller 205/40 depending on how much rubbing I am encountering or B) get a larger offset to pull the wheel in closer to the hub, of course then you might be too close on the inside, so I don't know. There isn't alot of room to be made on the focus for a ton of drop.
Looks like you need wheels with a different offset so that the tire will tuck up into the inside of the wheelwel rather than hit it. I have heard that a 42 mm offtet wheel is perfect, but don't quote me on that. Those wheels just stick out too far IMO. What drop do you have?
