Well since getting the tires about a moth ago or so, I havent had much chance to just see what they were worth in water.  Tonight, though, I got to chase my first storm of the season and I must say Im HIGHLY impressed!  I was easily doing 70mph and not one hiccup or lost traction.

While chasing the storm I hit the hail core and while I wouldnt mind dimples on my pistons, I dont fancy them on the car let alone the glass problems.  The hail was about quarter size, so I whipped the Focus around and hit the gas for all she was worth cause the storm was moving like a bat out of hades.  Before I knew and had thought to look Id broke 110 mph and she stuck like glue.  NOW, before I get all the safety minded people in here, 110mph is not my normal chase habit.  I was just getting out of the way of the storm because where there is hail there sometimes be tornadoes, and since I was in the boondocks and had no weather data I wasnt taking any chances and I just happen to hit that speed before I even realized how fast I was going.

There wasnt a lot of water on the road at that time but enough my old tires, even when they were in good shape, would have already broken loose and long let go of the road.

I guess unless they stop making them I'll be getting another set when the time comes 'cause wet weather traction is something I definately want to have plenty of.  I think I got a couple of decent shots, I'll try posting them if I get a chance.  My camera settings were all screwed up from shooting the monster truck show on Saturday so Im not sure if they are going to be all that good, I forgot to freakin reset the thing back to the storm settings.  Oh well, its February.  The only months I havent been able to get lightning shots in are November, December and January.  But Im ready now so bring on the light show daddy needs some new pictures!!
