Eibach sway bars, and the eibach rear alignment bolt, should be here by either tomorrow or Monday, which means either Monday or Tuesday of next week and I should finally after many long long months of not putting the SVT stuff on my car, the SVT suspension will be going on the car. Finally. :) I'm pretty excited really... No really, I'm excited :) :caution

Sounds like good stuff Joe.  I'm also planning on doing some suspension stuff this spring also.

get an assistant for the camber bolts. you'll drive yourself nuts trying to twist the UCA while feeding the bolt thru.

cant remember if I put it in my write up, but be sure to mark the head of the bolt. I notched it right where the cam lobe is flush with the bolt. that way you can see where you're at once the bolt is in and you need to adjust it.

Yeah I've got an assistant, several actually, as for marking it, what is that supposed to tell me, I don't really know HOW these things work, so I'm kinda leaving that up to the person installing it for me, he's been a mechanic for most all of his life and he's almost 40 so hopefully he'll know what the hell is going on.

youa re marking the position of the lobe. When the bolt is installed, you cant see the position of the lobe. if you mark the 0 point then you can turn the bolt and dial in the camber without putting alot of effort into it. otherwise you have to rely on the position of the shims and my experience is that those are about 10* off of the true cam position.

It's like he's talking to me :D

Ok so when I see said alignment bolt, I'll know what the lobe is? And I can mark said bolt for the position of the lobe? what does said lobe do? or is it just there? It's obvious I have no clue what this is all about.

ok. if you compare the eibach bolt to the stock one, you will notice that the eibach bolt is skinnier. near the head of the bolt you will see what looks like a cam lobe. that cam lobe diameter is the diameter of the stock bolt. the shaft of the bolt is offcenter of the lobe. that means that one side of the lobe is flush with one edge of the bolt. the other side of the lobe sticks way out. (you'll see what I mean when you get it) if you make a mark on the head of the bolt that points to where the lobe and shaft are even, you will be able to tell the postion of the lobe from the outside.

the way the bolt works is that having the offcenter shaft turned in or out will either pull the knuckle in closer to the UCA (negative camber) or push it further away. (positive camber)

That's what I said, they showed up way quicker than I expected. They are all installed, pretty much took all day, wasn't exactly cake. Getting the springs out of the rear started off a hassle but I figured it out, I just took out the bolt on the front of the upper control arm and then swung everything else down (had to be careful not to bust the brake hose, but it gave just enough room to get everything out and then back in. The rear sway bar was pretty easy to install, and man is that thing rugged. The front part was pretty easy, struts and everything slid right out and then dropping the subframe on a floor jack we slid the front sway bar out, the bolts holding the sway bar brackets did suck though, just not enough room to even get air to them, so it was a 3 clicker ratchet thing going on there, and one of those bolts might as well be a mile long. The car lowered a good bit, I don't have pictures, I really wanted to get some but, it's pretty noticeable. One side in the rear seems to be a bit higher than the other for some unknown reason, it's only slight but noticeable. I'm thinking it'll settle, the ride is a bit bumpy now, but not uncomfortable, and the handling is vastly improved over stock, I can't wait to get the 17's on there and see how it's all going to look. I didn't however install the camber bolts yet, I wasn't thinking and didn't pull Pat's directions and since eibach was so kind to not give me any, I wasn't exactly sure which bolt they replaced I'm thinking it was the one I took out to get the springs in.

Sounds good....I was told most cars will sit a little different one side to the other...just think with a set of Euro rims (with the correct 49mm offset, and Kumho MX tires for around $500) would do to that vehicle of yours....

yeah I read through your how-to, but I had forgotten to bring it with me when I did the install stuff. Seems like a pretty minor job, so I think I can work on that depending on how the alignment stuff comes out looking. The car sits quite a bit lower now, especially in the front, the ride is real stiff, and god forbid I hit any bumps on an angle, the sway bars will just about make you hurl.
